NVQ's (ECDL) in the workplace - Enrolment evening

We are having an enrolment evening for employers and employees who are interested in our fully funded 'NVQ's in the Workplace' programme. There will be a short presentation at 5:30pm for anyone wanting to find out more about the programme, and enrolment will be open between 4:30pm - 7:00pm for those who already know about the programme. NVQs in the Workplace are programmes designed to assess competence and skills used on a daily basis. Leading to a nationally recognised qualification, these qualifications are aligned with business needs in Wales. Fully funded through our partnership with NPTC Group FE Funding, there is no cost to employer or employee. HEA Fellowship Information Session (Bay Campus)

Information sessions provide a mandatory introduction to the REVISED Swansea Application Scheme for HEA Associate/ Fellow  or Senior Fellowship and to the UK Professional Standards Framework and provides a good opportunity for you to ask any questions.  Following the session, you will be enrolled on a Blackboard module and you must finish reviewing an online Learning Object regarding the issues covered and complete a Needs Analysis.  There are then a range of optional but strongly recommended support sessions. Teacher Discussions on Non-Examination Assessment (Swansea) - COMPUTER SCIENCE / Trafodaethau Athrawon am Asesiadau nas cynhelir drwy Arholiad (Abertawe) - CYFRIFIADUREG

COMPUTER SCIENCE We are inviting teachers to participate in a series of focus group discussions about their experiences of non-examination assessment (NEA) in GCSEs. NEA refers to any type of assessment that is not an exam taken by all candidates at the same time. NEA therefore covers a range of assessment activities including coursework, oral assessment, fieldwork, portfolio work and practical assessment. This focus group will discuss: 1) the principles and purposes of NEA2) assessment methods3) levels of teacher involvement at task setting, task taking and task marking4) experiences of delivering NEA5) experiences of assessing NEA  We want to hear from teachers with experience of NEA in one (or more) of 10 GCSE subjects. There will be light refreshments and an opportunity to network with other teachers at every session. We will use the findings from this research to shape the future design and development of qualifications, for example when looking at how qualifications can support the new curriculum for Wales. If you would like to contribute your views to this focus group, please book yourself a place by registering. Spaces are limited so please only sign up once you have confirmed you will be able to attend. We also request that only one teacher per subject attends from each school. If you sign up and are then unable to attend, please cancel your booking through EventBrite to give someone else a chance to take part.
