Autism Awareness 2018


Autism Awareness is a 2 hour session run by Lynne Melville Senior Project Worker from Caern Project Learning Disabilities & Autism Services that aims to improve the knowledge, confidence and resilience of parents, carers and professionals in working with autistic children and young people. We will cover issues around various ‘challenging behaviours’ looking at causes and strategies to try. Bath Salts and Hand Wash Workshop


Make your own personally scented Bath Salts and Hand Wash.  As the weather gets cooler, what better way to indulge your skin than to create and make your own personalised version of our new salts and hand wash. Choose your own autumnal scents and learn about the benefits of your creations whilst enjoying homemade cake in a warming and grounding environment at the LT Workshop in North Berwick. Time 11-12.30pm Saturday 27th October 2018. £40 You will take away with you: ~ 250ml Jar of Bath Salts made by you. ~ 500ml Pump Bottle of 100% Hand Wash mixed and personally scented by you. LT Soy Candle Making Workshops @ LT HQ North Berwick


Join Designer and Candlemaker Laura Thomas (Laura Thomas Co) at her LT HQ in North Berwick for an afternoon / evening of soy candle making. MAY - AUGUST BOTANICAL WORKSHOPS: Create your very own soy scented candles with dried botanical flowers and learn all about the art of candle making in this workshop.  SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER WORKSHOPS: Create your very own soy scented candles with an array of over 20 essential oils and fragrance oils from and learn all about the art of candle making in this workshop.  NOVEMBER + DECEMBER CHRISTMAS WORKSHOPS: Create your very own Christmas soy scented candles with traditional Christmas and Wintery scents and learn all about the art of candle making in this workshop. Laura shares her insider knowledge, secrets, tips and tricks of the trade that will enable you to create and learn about the art of candle making.  Take away oodles of inspiration, pick Laura's brains and discover all you need to know about all things candles. Arrive to served Cake (daytime classes 9.30-11.30 am) or Fizz and Nibbles (evening classes 7.30-9.30 pm), then sit back, relax and learn about wax, wicks, fragrancing and burning your candle correctly.  Finally get to work making your very own soy scented candles to take away with you. Workshop Content: Description of commonly used waxes and their pros and cons. Introduction to Soy Wax. An overview of the different types of wicks. Discussion about the different scent options of fragrance oils, essential oils and dried flower petals (May - August Workshops). Step by step guide to the process of producing a container candle including measuring correct quanities of wax and scents required. Choose, mix and measure your own scent combinations. Create and hand pour your own container candles. Discussion on how to fix 'problems' when making candles. Workshops are roughly 2 hours long.  Take away with you two container candles which will have dried botanical flowers within (May - August Workshops) and Christmas scents (November + December Workshops) and a wealth of knowledge on your new candle making skill. Come and make candles with Laura Thomas within her own workshop surround by LT Co goodies at The Lighthouse Business Centre in Noreth Berwick, East Lothian.  Meet new people, learn something crafty and take your own hand poured candles home with you to burn.  A must do if you love scented candles and craft! Kids Christmas Candle Making @ LT Workshop North Berwick


Suitable for aged 10 + Bring your kids along to join Laura and Kate for a kids Christmas Candle Making class on the afternoon of the first day of the Christmas School Holidays. They will choose a scent combination, blend their scent and take home with them two boxed candles made by them, ready to be gifted as Christmas presents! Siobhan Miller Haddington 700 Concert


Regarded as one of the foremost vocalists in Scotland, Siobhan Miller has won the Scots Singer of the Year award at the Scots Trad Awards no less than three times - the only artist to have achieved this level of recognition. At this year's BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, she was nominated for Folk Singer of the Year and won the award for the Best Traditional track. her most recent album, Strata, was nominated for Album of the Year at the Trad Awards, as was a previous album, Flight of the Times. This concert has been specially organised to mark the closing of the Haddington 700 festivities. Haddington 700 is a year long celebration of events marking the anniversary of Robert the Bruce's charter to the town. The date of the concert - 6 December, is the exact date the charter was presented to the town in 1318. It is fitting that the concert will be held in the very beautiful and historic St Mary's Parish Church, Haddington.
