Tartan Touch Single Pass - Haddington RFC


Tartan Touch is Scottish Rugby’s Fun, Simple and Social version of non-contact rugby! The Tartan Touch season begins in May at 30 hubs around Scotland. Join in the fun and get fit at a hub near you this summer for just £3 a session. Tartan Touch Sessions will run at Haddington RFC over 10 consecutive weeks from Tuesday 1st May - Tuesday 3rd of July), 6:30pm start time.

Handmade By Carrot Top Tweed Tootsie Bag Workshop


Learn To Create Something Beautiful! During this workshop I will teach you how to create your very own beautiful Tweed Tootsie bag and because I guide you through each and every step it is suitable for absolute beginners and experienced crafters alike. You will also be served a scrumptious "afternoon tea" lunch on pretty vintage china during the workshop making your whole day an extra special treat!  The price of this workshop is £65.00 and includes all materials and tools necessary to complete your clutch bag and your gorgeous lunch too. Maximum class size is 5 so I have plenty of time to spend with each of you. Finished size approx 28cm tall x 22cm wide x 11cm deep Lunch is provided by Helena, West Barns Bowling Club, Dunbar, EH42 1UH. Please note: The map is incorrect, "Carrot Top Towers" is on the opposite side of the A1 from that shown. Please take the A1107, signposted for Coldingham (on the left if travelling South, right if travelling North) As soon as you come off the A1 onto the A1107 turn immediate right where you will see 2 stone built cottages. We are the cottage furthest from the road. Parking is in the drive outside the extension. I have a little cat who can be shut out of the area for the duration of the workshop but please do be aware that she does live in the house for anyone with allergies.

Shark Life Twilight 5km


Shark Life returns to Easglescairnie Mains for our first ever ADULTS ONLY 5km race.  This event is open to over 16s only and will incorprate 5km of entirely off-road terrain with 20+ of obstacles to challenge all abilities.  The course will be marked and marshalled throughout so you can focus on having some fun!  The event will start at 7pm, meaning we will be running in the twilight, so a headtorch is a must! No torch, no run, it's very simple. Some of the route will be through very sheltered, secluded woodland and it may still be summer but it will be dark! Please expect full water body submersion as well as mud, walls, crawling, and a whole lot more!  Enter the Friday night run, or any of our adult only waves during this race weekend and received 20% off your families entry to any child wave over the Saturday or the Sunday. Shark Life is back at Eaglescairnie for another fun filled, obstacle packed weekend.  This time we are offering two different distances, a 3km and a 5km. Complete with water, mud, climbing, crawling and running we have created something that is suitable for all ages and abilities. Please note that the 5km route is open to over 8s ONLY.  As with all our family OCR events, adults can run for free with their children. We ask that all under 5s be accompanied by an adult but if you're children are older then please feel free to run with them as well, we are all about family focused fun!  All finishers will receive a Shark Life 2018 medal but please note that this race is not timed and there are no prizes for first over the line. This is about fun, not speed.  Race numbers will be given out on the day, please arrive at least 45 minutes before your wave time to allow you to collect your number and warm up safely before you start. Please be on the start 10 mins before you start as we want to make sure you are briefed, warmed up and ready to go. Berwickshire Coast Rocks: Siccar Point Geology Boat Trip


Explore the coastal geology of Berwickshire with geologist Dr Ian Kille. Find out about the rocks of the Silurian and Devonian landscape south from Siccar Point to St Abbs, with a guided boat trip and explore features that are only visible from the sea.  Meet at the St Abbs Harbour car park at 10:30 am for the safety briefing and boarding, ready for the boat trip which will last for up to 3 hours from 11 am - 2 pm. The trip will conclude at the Ebba Centre in St Abbs with teas/coffees and a short lecture by Dr Ian Kille to explain more about the coastal features seen. Places are limited to 12 only. NB. Please note that this trip will be dependent on the weather conditions.

World Rugby Level 1: First Aid in Rugby - Haddington RFC


Scottish Rugby are working in partnership with World Rugby to provide a first aid in rugby qualification for club and school volunteers who may be asked to respond to an injured rugby player.  Aims On successful completion of the course, a pitch side responder will be able to: Plan and risk assess for potential emergency situations at sports grounds. Appreciate safety hazards for a first aider. Protect the neck and perform an assessment of airway, breathing and circulation. Recognise the difficulties in telling major and minor injury apart in the early stages – particularly head injuries Recognise cardiac arrest and perform effective basic life support and safe defibrillation. Initially manage a potentially spinally injured player safely in an emergency situation. Understand the role of the first aider in the chain of survival. Manage common limb injuries including sprains, strains and fractures. Activate appropriate help   Outline This course is delivered by World Rugby Medical Educators, and will last approximately 6 hours. Assessment Completion of online pre-requisite World Rugby online level 1 (http://playerwelfare.worldrugby.org/firstaidinrugby) and full attendance required. This course is competence based and involves on-course appraisal. It involves both classroom and outdoor practical activities, where coaches will be expected to participate fully in all sessions.
