Setting off at Sunrise, we will explore a part of the beautiful East Lothian coast line between Gullane and North Berwick. This trip is all about setting intentions for the year ahead, and mentally preparing for another year journeying around the sun. We will hike, build shelter, make a fire, make a meal (a vegetarian lunch is provided), enjoy some beach yoga, as well as a wild sea swim (optional). Screening of movie 'Tomorrow/Demain'

Are you worried about climate change? Despairing at the damage we are doing to the Earth? Frustrated that our politicians seem unable or unwilling to do anything? Do you sense that there must be a better way? Well, you’re right. Come to watch our screening of the film ‘Tomorrow/Demain’ and learn about community, grassroots- led solutions to the challenges facing us. This beautiful, award-winning film (with a fantastic original soundtrack) takes us around the world to tell the stories which don’t make it on to the news. It is hugely positive, affirming and inspirational, exploring creative solutions in the fields of food, energy, transport, economics and education. Join us to watch the movie, enjoy some home baked refreshments and explore what some of this might mean for North Berwick or for your local community. We look forward to seeing you there ! The evening will begin at 7pm, the film runs for almost two hours – there will be a short interval halfway through to stretch your legs – and then, you are invited to join the discussion afterwards. We should be done by 10pm ! All proceeds from this event will go to covering screening costs. Any surplus will be donated to The Barefoot Sanctuary's Classroom of Hope fundraising efforts.

Biz East Lothian Coffee Morning - February 22nd 2019

For our first networking event of 2019 - as well as our usual chance to meet other businesses in an informal setting and catch up whats been happening over the last few months, we will be focussing on the upcoming Making Tax Digital (MTD) changes fast approaching in April. MTD will be starting off with businesses that are registered for VAT - however it's important all businesses are aware of the changes and start getting ready for the changes.  Our guest for the day will be Paul Hutchison, Partner at Campbell Dallas - who will give us an overview of the changes and some practical steps to implementation. As always everyone will be warmly welcomed, bring colleagues and contacts and please feel free to share the invite to this free business networking event. Doors open at 0830, we'll start talking just after 0900, with loads of time for questions and more coffee afterwards -  but as always it's flexible and informal so if you are a bit later just come and join us!   FAQs How can I contact the organiser with any questions? Drop us a note at [email protected] Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No need - nice and informal - but booking is useful for us via Eventbrite so we know how many scones to bake and how much coffee to bring!
