Little Strawberries Summer Cookery School for Children

A home-based children's cookery school in a village setting 10 minutes from Yeovil, 25 minutes from Sherborne and 30 minutes from Taunton.  The school is designed for parents and little ones (aged 0-10 years), running each Monday morning from July 30th to September 3rd.  Each ticket allows one adult and up to three children to attend each session.  Tickets for each session are sold separately and there is no restriction on how many sessions you have to come to.   Every week we will be cooking something healthy, simple & tasty (a different recipe each week) and the kids will be eating what they've created for lunch! There will be good quality coffee, tea & cake available for parents, fruit on offer for children, the radio will be on and if it's sunny we will prep outside.  Home made ice lollies are also a definite possibility!  Some weeks we will be taking a 2 minute walk up to the allotment to gather cooking ingredients such as new potatoes or picking homegrown tomatoes in the conservatory.   The aim of this class is not only to provide a regular Monday cooking activity for your children over the summer holidays, whereby increasing their cooking skills and interest in food, but it's also an opportunity for parents to natter, network and giggle.  I will be allocating a few minutes of the morning to chatting about a relevant nutrition topic (a different one each week) and holding a relaxed nutrition Q&A so you'll get the chance to ask me questions you have on topics such as weaning and fussy eating.  Spaces are limited to 12 adults per morning and booking is required by up to five days before each session.  Hope to see you and your children there. x

It is especially attractive as it is still in its original location built in the 1450s, although the current bookshelves and chains are 17th Century.  Our Chained Library houses books published before 1800 which were collected by the canons in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, reflecting their wide-ranging intellectual interests.
