Pesticides Application, Foundation Unit (PA1)

This is a compulsory unit which covers the legislation relevant to pesticides application. It includes handling, storage, transportation and interpretation of product labels. This unit needs to be achieved as a pre-requisite for all other units. FAQs Who needs to do this course? Anyone who uses a professional pesticide product in the course of their business or employment may not use that pesticide or give instruction to others on their use unless they have received adequate instruction, training and guidance in their correct use. In addition users of pesticides must hold a Certificate of Competence if using a pesticide if they: were born after 31 December 1964; or are providing a commercial service e.g contactors or anyone spraying on land that is not his or her employers. Anyone who is required to hold a Certificate of Competence can only use pesticides without a Certificate if they are directly supervised by someone who does hold a certificate. Where can I get more information? The law says you must be trained in their use. What does the HSE Codes of Practice say? What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? There is ample parking on site or East Malling station is a short walk away from the main gates. Where can I contact the organiser with any questions? [email protected] or phone 01732 523755
