IT/Digital Sector Insight Day (For Students in Years 10/11)

OPEN TO SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN ESSEX, EXCLUDING LONDON BOROUGHS - APPLICATIONS FROM OUTSIDE AREA MAY BE POLITELY DECLINED! As part of the Essex Employment and Skills Board's 'Education and Industry STEM Programme', Colchester Institute and the ESB's Programme team are working together to put on this event aiming to highlight the range of careers and learning options available in Essex, in and related to the IT/Digital sector. The day will consist of a mixture of  interactive and engaging industry-led workshops, and presentations from Colchester Institute and University staff. The success of the day will be measured in terms of number of students progressing in the future to jobs and/or courses in or related to the IT/Digital sector. Ideally students should be on course for or have achieved 5 Grade 4 passes at GCSE, including Maths and English. Students should bring their own packed lunch on the day and there will be cold drinks provided throughout. There will also be tea and coffee served for teaching staff accompanying their students. PLEASE NOTE: The ESB's Education and Industry STEM Programme will support the costs incurred by schools transporting their students to and from Colchester Institute. Schools will claim this funding after the event and so will need to initially cover the cost. For more information, email the Education and Industry STEM Programme team at [email protected]

Women, Waistlines & Wellness

FOOD, HORMONES, CLOTHES, CONFIDENCE, WEIGHT, MENOPAUSE....do any of these effect you? Join us for a day of insightful and engaging talks from a hand picked line up of passionate speakers, whose sole purpose is to inspire and empower you with their individualised expertise and knowledge, covering all the areas above. Complimented by a small, handpicked selection of stalls and our very own Lily May clothing store. In the evening, we are offering an *optional* showing of the amazingly truthful movie "EMBRACE" which kick started the body image movement. EMBRACE is the journey of Taryn Brumfitt who, on a personal quest to find out why she, and so many women hate their bodies, took the world by storm after posting an unconventional before and after photo on social media. Plus, we are combining our talks, on additional days, with smaller, more personal workshops. These workshops focus on giving you the opportunity to make a deeper connection with the chosen experts. They are designed to enhance your life, help you to take what you've seen and learnt and make positive changes in the areas you need most.
