SCUBA DIVING - TRY DIVES (Newport - Bettws Active Living Centre )


If you fancy a go at Scuba Diving to see what it is like then a Try Dive is a 30 minute (approx) under water experience in confined water (i.e. swimming pool). You have a chance to try on the equipment and find out what its like to breathe underwater. You will also get to understand what buoyancy underwater is all about.A Try Dive is a good way of seeing if Scuba Diving is the sport for you. Cost only £10 + fees

Creative Writing Skills for teachers (in the medium of English) Would you like to learn more about how to create poetry, fiction and explore digital engagement? If so, join an inspiring day of entertainment, talks and workshops led by Welsh authors and poets.  The day will cover: How to create a twitter story or poem and write an engaging blog How to create fiction based on the 7 story threads How to have fun with poetry The explicit teaching of writing skills The modelling of different forms and purposes of writing Regular opportunities for pupils to develop their skills in work across the curriculum as well as in English/Welsh  All A2: Connect Masterclasses and Professional Learning training courses are free for both Teachers and artists to attend and we are able to support teachers to attend by covering the cost of supply staff back in the classroom while you are away. (This is limited to teachers from schools in the Central South region up to £150 per full day).

Getting to know you Networking Event- Third Sector and NCN's Caerphilly Borough


If you are a third sector not-for-profit organisation or local community group delivering any health, care or wellbeing support in Caerphilly Borough then this event will be useful to you. The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and local partners' ambition is to create a new system of primary, community care and wellbeing across Gwent, in partnership with local government and the third sector. Collaboration with partners will build on the existing innovation across Gwent, and use the Neighbourhood Care Network footprint, as the basis from which local services will be planned and delivered, around a model of community wellbeing. The purpose of this networking event will be to strengthen relationships between the third sector and the three Neighbourhood Care Networks (GP Clusters North, South and East) by sharing intelligence about what third sector services and community support exists and how we can work collaboratively to deliver key priorities to support the population of Caerphilly Borough. The full programme will be posted here in due course and will include workshop discussions around; Sustainable services, Social Prescribing and wellbeing support Provision of Care Closer to Home Working together to mitigate Winter Pressures  There will be opportunities for exhibition stands to showcase third sector Health Social Care and Wellbeing support. We want to be inclusive or small and large organisations so reserve the right to allocate space to achieve an equitable mix of organisations.
