Menopause The Musical

Menopause The Musical has entertained audiences in more than 100 American cities, as well as in Australia, Canada, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, South Africa and South Korea. The previous West End run and Irish tour were a huge hit with audiences and critics alike. Each week around 35,000 women of all ages and stages find their spirits lifted by the show's light-hearted look at the menopause. Menopause The Musical writer/producer Jeanie Linders says the characters are a compilation of any woman and are sure to appeal to all women. "Each of us has a part of our personality that is glam; or striving for success, or dedicated to making our physical world a better place, or to being a loving mate. I think that is one of the reasons that the women in the audience readily identify with the characters. Seeing them 'suffer' the woes of the menopause brings the experience closer to home," she said. It's been said that Jeanie wrote Menopause The Musical "after a bottle of wine and a hot flush". Parodying songs has always come naturally to her. She recalls standing in front of her freezer, dressed up in a posh frock as she headed for a big 'do', singing "Hot Flush" to Rod Stewart's hit "Hot Legs". It gave her the inspiration to create the rest of the show which opened in March 2001 in an old Florida perfume shop which had been converted into a theatre. The musical has been credited with bringing the topics of ageing and menopause to the forefront and Jeanie views it as a great way for women to connect all over the world. But first and foremost it is a celebration of memory loss and music, hot flushes and low tolerance levels, humour and hormones.

Advice and Enrolment Event - Monday 23rd April 2018

Our Advice & Enrolment Evenings are a great opportunity for you to come and find out about the courses that you want to study. All of our Curriculum Areas will be in one big room so that you have the chance to talk to as many different staff as you want to. It's the perfect time to ask any questions that you may have, we've got staff and students on-hand to tell you what it's like studying at college and to help you understand the courses you're interested in a little better. If you're not sure what course you want to study, or what career you want to go in to, then you can have a chat with our Information Advice & Guidance Team. They are impartial careers advisors who will be able to help you learn all the facts so that you can make an informed decision about what's best for your future. So what are you waiting for? If you want to study anything from GCSEs up to University Courses, part-time or full-time, then register to come to our Advice & Enrolment Evening now! Find out more about the courses we offer by visiting our website: www.northlindsey.ac.uk  FAQs What are my parking options at the event? Here at North Lindsey College we have a number of large car-parks onsite, just drive into the college campus and turn right towards the main car-parks. Where can I contact the organiser with any questions? You can give us a call on 01724 281111 or send an email to [email protected] if you want to ask us any questions about this (or any other events). Or you can pop-in to college and speak to one of our Customer Services Team. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Nope, we'll be able to do a quick search for you on the system and check you in. But if you want to bring it then we don't even need to search for you, we'll just take the ticket. The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay? As long as the person whose details are on the ticket is the person interested in studying here at North Lindsey College then it doesn't matter who comes along to the event.

I, Tonya (15)

Tonya Harding was the 1991 U.S. figure-skating champion and a two time Olympic medallist but in 1993 she lost everything when her scuzzy husband arranged for an attack on her rival Nancy Kerrigan. This jaw-dropingly amazing film about the whole mad affair is a revelation, especially for Allison Janney at Tonya’s foul-mouthed mother.

Join us for a buffet and networking session at 2pm, followed by performances by ‘Act Now’, Lincolnshire’s longest running theatre group for adults with learning difficulties, and the acclaimed ‘Stepping Stone Theatre for Mental Health’.
