Pricing

One of the most important decisions your business can make is about pricing. Yet most firms get it wrong: they focus on cost, rather than value. We take a look at the conventional wisdom and discuss how it falls short. We look at the danger of discounts and the difference between ‘differentiating’ and ‘discriminating’. The morning then moves on to the psychology of pricing. You can actually create value with your price, so we look at real world examples where this happens (and the effect on your brand). A key point is that humans aren’t perfect. They rely on shortcuts to make buying decisions, so it’s essential to understand what those shortcuts are and how they impact your sales and profits. Next, there are some important lessons to learn about when to send invoices, how to set them out, which payment methods to accept, and how to structure your payment terms. The morning has an astonishing conclusion: could you actually sell more by raising your prices? Who Should Attend Owners and directors who want to raise their prices and increase sales. What You Will Learn Why most companies set the wrong price The danger of discounts How to raise prices – and sell more How pricing affects your brand

Whistler and Nature

This exhibition reveals new research into the influence of industry, the military and historical revivalism on one of the greatest artists of the nineteenth century, through his depictions of natural and industrial landscapes. James Abbott McNeill Whistler (1834-1903) was an American artist who lived most of his life in the UK. He was known for his innovative artistic style and bold personality, with a reputation for verbal and legal retaliations against art critics, dealers, and artists who insulted his work / those with whom he had quarrelled (like his famous 1878 libel case against the critic, John Ruskin). Through this intriguing collection of paintings, sketches and prints, we will examine how his family involvement in early 19th century industry, and pursuit of a career in the US military, shaped his knowledge of observational drawing and influenced his artistic style. It also looks afresh at his work in the context of attitudes to landscape in British art and design, shaped not only by classical revivalism but by a desire for landscape improvement and productivity. Whistler’s smoky images of warehouses, harbours and industrial scenes were designed to showcase a new kind of productive, wealth-generating landscape for the modern Victorian age; a view of nature constrained by man-made structures and urban life.

Spaghetti Minis - Email Marketing For Winners

Email Marketing For Winners – 25th October Even with social media, Google, and video marketing, one online marketing channel has stood the test of time. Email. Email marketing still works because we all still use email. But it fails if you approach it like everyone else. What do most people do? Well, they write a newsletter. About themselves. But people don’t really want to read about how Jeff from Accounts is doing his finance exams because it doesn’t really affect them. So what can do you? For nearly four years we’ve been sending a weekly email that’s become the email people talk about and the cornerstone of our business and marketing. The difference? People open, read, and talk about our email. When they meet us they tell us they enjoy it. We’ll help you create and send emails that get opened, read, and loved. We’ll help your subscribers open your emails and act on them - and we’ll show you some clever tricks, too! After this course you’ll be able to navigate Mailchimp, the most popular email platform, but you’ll easily be able to apply it all to similar email marketing software. We’ll help you create simple and effective email marketing and teach you how to build a successful email marketing campaign. We’ll help you with: Tried and tested subject lines Opening line power tips Content ideas for winning repeat readers Template building advice A simple tool to quickly create images and video content for email Tips and hacks on growing your list Best times to email your list Adding sign-up forms to your website How to use the data within your email marketing to generate sales Building landing pages for social media And how to on-board your subscribers automatically so they feel loved and valued. This course is ideal for small business owners or marketers who are emailing already but need to get a structure and plan in place to keep in the minds of their customers. North Cotswold Chamber Choir - Lo, the full, final sacrifice

For the first concert of our 2018/19 season, we're delighted to be working with, and singing the works of, a composer new to the North Cotswold Chamber Choir. David Bednall has been described as 'one of the brightest talents in British choral music'; The Choral Journal says, 'Those of us who love choral music, and who are always searching for the "next great thing", will feel that they have found it in Bednall. His style shows a multiplicity of influences, from Messiaen and Langlais to Howells and Arthur Wills, but already it is truly his own.'

David will be leading us in a wide-ranging programme of English choral music, with a focus on music of love and remembrance - from Herbert Howells's deeply-felt Requiem, via David's three choral miniatures setting poems from the Great War, to Finzi's festival anthem which gives us the title of our programme.
