Meditation Classes in Inverurie


Everyone is welcome Meditation has many benefits such as: – Deep relaxation & improved health. – Increased mindfulness & concentration. – Developing a more positive approach to life. These classes run as a series but each class is self-contained so you can also just drop-in. An extraordinary series of classes contemplating subjects we tend to avoid, but which open our wisdom eyes to see beyond the mundane. Current Course: New Year, New You Becoming the person we want to be – one who is able to deal with whatever life throws at us and in the midst of all that make progress to fulfilling our potential. Week 1: Keep Calm and Meditate With a calm mind we can take on anything, no matter what life throws us. Learn how to do this with simple tools we can use in our daily life. Week 2: Getting Rid of Our Bad Habits Our personality is a collection of traits and mental habits; but they are not permanent, so we can definitely unburden ourselves of our self-destructive tendencies. Week 3: Realising Your Potential We all have limitless powers of love and wisdom deep within us, although perhaps we have yet to tap into them. Uncover the potentials in the mind for deep, lasting happiness and develop the power to help ourselves and others. Date: (Thursdays) JANUARY | 17 | 24 | 31 Time:11.30am – 12.30pm. VACMA Aberdeenshire One-to-One Advice Sessions


This roadshow event is an informal information session designed for visual artists and craft practitioners interested in finding out more about the Visual Artist and Craft Makers Awards (VACMA), a national funding programme of small grants to support visual artists and craft makers in their creative and professional development. Stephen Palmer, Visual Arts Officer from Creative Scotland, will introduce the scheme. Stephen will also be available for bookable one-to-ones.  Programme 11.00am to 11.20am - VACMA presentation by Stephen Palmer, Creative Scotland 11.20am to 1.00pm - Drop in to chat with Jennifer Shaw, Arts Development Officer from Aberdeenshire Council and Fenneke Wolters-Sinke a recent recipient of a VACMA Aberdeenshire award. 11.20am to 1.00pm - One to One sessions We have 10 x 10-minute one-to-one sessions available to pre-book. Weekend Stained Glass Workshop - January 2019


Our weekend workshops are designed for anybody interested in learning traditional stained glass techniques. The small class size, friendly teaching environment and timescale will allow a complete beginner to produce a small, simple panel over the two days, and to leave the course with enough experience to carry on stained glass as a hobby. For more experienced participants, the two days should see the completion of long-standing projects and plenty time to devise and begin new projects, or learn new techniques.The course will run over two full days, starting at 9AM. Lunch will be provided, although you are very welcome to bring goodies, cake etc! If you have any dietary requirements please let us know in plenty time. Please note that working with lead is not recommended for pregnant women or breast-feeding mothers.

Multicultural Burns Night


Multicultural Burns Night is to celebrate Robert Burns Birthday with diverse communities in Aberdeen. The main aim is to promote native Scottish Cultures with Immigrant communities. The Robert Burns works have influenced to different International communities like Bengali, Polish, Ukrain, Romania, Jamaica, Caribbean, Canada, USA, Australia & New Zealand etc. This event is to explore local immigrant communities talent perform Robert Burns poetry and share the Scottish traditional cultures.
