Magic of Minsmere weekend wildlife walk at RSPB Minsmere


Never been to Minsmere before? Then this is the walk for you! With over 5700 recorded species and a wealth of history and archaeological highlights at Minsmere, there is so much to discover. Our friendly and knowledgeable RSPB guides will take you through the sights and sounds to be enjoyed at this time of year. Walks generally last  about 4 hours and are tailored according to the season and visitor knowledge. No previous experience needed.  Don’t forget to bring your binoculars or ask at reception about loaning a pair for the day.   FAQs   Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? We do not recommend our walks for children under 8 years old   What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? Minsmere is signposted from the A12 and the village of Westleton (two miles away). On arrival there is a large, free car park. There are toilets in the visitor centre   What can I bring into the event? We recommend suitable outdoor clothing. bring your own binoculars and camera if you have them, or hire binoculars from the shop. You may wish to carry a drink and/or snack. The reserve cafe will open before and after the walk. No dogs, except registered assistance dogs please   How can I contact the organiser with any questions? Birdwatching for beginners on Sundays at RSPB Minsmere


Many people have begun birdwatching at Minsmere over the last 70 years. Our RSPB guides will take you through all the steps for bird identification as well as showing you how to use binoculars and which field guides are best for you. Bangers & Bats at RSPB Minsmere


Bangers and Bats   Join Matt on a guided walk at dusk to spot and hear some of the emerging nocturnal autumnal wildlife including owls, moths and mammals, we’ll be using bat detectors to help identify several species of bats as they emerge from their roosts.   £11.25 non-members, £9 members, £5.60 non-member children, £4.50 member children, 4.30pm-6pm Thursday 25th October.   The café will be serving a special menu of sausages with mash potato and onion gravy at lunchtime, and serve hot chocolate until 4.30pm (Note that food is not included in price of event).     FAQs   Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? At STEM Gamechangers you will work with real STEM businesses to create new ideas, develop new technologies and solve real problems. The goal is to come up with a new and exciting solution to a real world STEM problem and to learn what it takes to be a part of the STEM sector. The bootcamp will end with a Dragons Den competition, where you will pitch your solution to real industry experts.
