Menopause The Musical Menopause The Musical has entertained audiences in more than 100 American cities, as well as in Australia, Canada, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, South Africa and South Korea. The previous West End run and Irish tour were a huge hit with audiences and critics alike. Each week around 35,000 women of all ages and stages find their spirits lifted by the show's light-hearted look at the menopause. Menopause The Musical writer/producer Jeanie Linders says the characters are a compilation of any woman and are sure to appeal to all women. "Each of us has a part of our personality that is glam; or striving for success, or dedicated to making our physical world a better place, or to being a loving mate. I think that is one of the reasons that the women in the audience readily identify with the characters. Seeing them 'suffer' the woes of the menopause brings the experience closer to home," she said. It's been said that Jeanie wrote Menopause The Musical "after a bottle of wine and a hot flush". Parodying songs has always come naturally to her. She recalls standing in front of her freezer, dressed up in a posh frock as she headed for a big 'do', singing "Hot Flush" to Rod Stewart's hit "Hot Legs". It gave her the inspiration to create the rest of the show which opened in March 2001 in an old Florida perfume shop which had been converted into a theatre. The musical has been credited with bringing the topics of ageing and menopause to the forefront and Jeanie views it as a great way for women to connect all over the world. But first and foremost it is a celebration of memory loss and music, hot flushes and low tolerance levels, humour and hormones. Venue: Regent Theatre Piccadilly Stoke-on-Trent When: Tue, 15 May 2018 12.00am - Tue, 15 May 2018 12.00am |

New Business Network New Business Network Meeting meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 9.45am The format will be • Open networking • Welcome and introductions - giving people the opportunity to give a quick insight into their business (around 2 minutes) • An opportunity to exchange business cards • A networking break - refreshments • The Business Focus of the meeting - this will give a business around half hour in the meeting to focus on their business, the idea that being everyone tries to help that business on the day after listening to a presentation, and having a Q&A to build a list of potential introductions, and possible ideas for the growth of that business. Tips, feedback and business exchanged - business tips or ideas, an opportunity to thank anyone for business, or any contacts that have proved valuable. People in the room that they would like to meet with. I believe there is a gap if people are starting a business, or coming to a new area, or just reached a crunch point, when a new type of network group might be able to help. We are noramlly meet at the College as South Cheshire College have expressed an interest in growing their links with the business community. The aim of the group is to help people understand the benefits of networking, if new, and to help build their list of contacts, as well as for everyone to grow their business. Venue: South Cheshire College Dane Bank Ave Crewe When: Tue, 1 May 2018 9.45am - Thu, 1 Jan 1970 1.00am |
