Silent Pool Gin Experience (Sunday 2018 tours)


Gin lovers and the ‘ginterested’- join us for a 90 minute deep dive into the Silent Pool Distillers’ gin experience. We’ll begin by talking about how we came to exist as well as telling the story of the Silent Pool. We will talk about the history of Gin, where it came from and why it is so popular today. Next, we will tell you what makes our Gin so special, covering the 4 different methods of production, talk about each botanical we use and why, even sampling as we go. Finishing with a tasting of the full range, we start by trying our award winning Silent Pool Gin and end with our Gin based fruit cordials. We formulate, distil, and bottle our award-winning liqueurs here, nestled in the Surrey Hills. The Gin experience is an intricate look at how we strive to be a truly unique producer of handcrafted spirits. The distillery is based in a scenic location so please park in the Silent Pool Public car park off the A25 and wrap up warm! Our meetings consist of members giving short prepared speeches, other members giving positive feedback in evaluations, and people enjoying trying impromptu speaking.There are opportunities to stand up and speak from your first meeting. At the Godalming Speakers Club there is no pressure to speak, you only participate when you are ready. It’s okay to attend our meeting and just watch and listen – you’ll be surprised what you’ll learn.We are a group dedicated to improving each other’s public speaking and leadership skills. The Godalming Speakers Club is affiliated to Toastmasters International and we run our meetings to their educational guidelines so that we can all learn and grow. What to expect Campus tours are a great way to get a feel for University of Chichester.  Run regularly throughout the year in small groups, these tours are a perfect opportunity to find out more about living and studying at Chichester.  A member of our team will take you around the campus and show you our dynamic learning spaces, including the innovative social learning spaces and our refurbished Learning Resource Centres. Brewery Tour


Come and have a tour of our lovely brewery in Rudgwick. Meet Bill and Richard who are qualified Master Brewers. During the tour you will learn the history of Firebird and find out how the huge range of craft beers are brewed. All this will be accompanied with a generous beer tasting (tickets will be issued for 6 x 1/2pts - thereafter beer will be charged at normal bar prices). A free branded glass is provided on arrival and is yours to keep. We will also feed you with award winning Sussex Charmer Cheese On Toast (if at least 20 people on the tour), or a tasty barbecue meal (if less than 20 people). On your way out you will be offered 10% discount on all beer purchased in our shop. Tour lasts 2.0 hours and is only suitable for adults over 18yrs.

Merrist Wood Animal Encounters Tour


Animal Encounter tours are held at the Merrist Wood College Animal Management Centre and include: Safety Introduction The Arid Biome; housing species such as Cuban iguana, tortoises, three banded armadillo and Von der Decken’s hornbills… The Tropical Biome; housing species such as coatis, black throated monitor lizard, forest dragons, tree frogs and turtles… Nocturnal Room; housing species such as; sugar gliders and long eared pygmy hedgehogs … Husbandry Room; housing a wide selection of birds and reptiles including bearded dragons, corn snakes, royal pythons, tortoises and fish… Walled Garden; to meet the meerkats and red squirrels Our experienced Animal Encounter Keeper Team will provide information on the different species, and allow visitors to meet some of the animals. We aim to educate visitors on subjects such as conservation, breeding projects and bio-diversity. There may also be an opportunity for visitors to handle or feed some of the animals.
