This foraging course walk is easy to reach from Nottingham, Mansfield, Newark, Lincoln, Leicester, Chesterfield, Worksop, Grantham, and Derby. In this historic town, you'll discover how to identify some commonly growing foods to forage for, how to avoid poisonous lookalikes, and hints on where to look. When we meet up, we will go through the basics of foraging before heading out over the town's range of habitats, including woodland and parkland. During the walk, I will introduce you to a number of edible species, giving you tips on harvesting, correct identification, and recipe ideas. You'll also get to sample a range of pre-made wild food tasters and preserves along the way. Exact meeting location given after booking. Hot Business Tips Seminar and Networking Event

Update on recent changes that may affect you & your business Running a business is tough enough without the constant changes in legislation that you need to adhere to - sometimes with limited support and guidance. Wright Vigar and Andrew & Co have joined forces to bring you this briefing which will cover off a number of ‘hot topics’ that all successful businesses need to be aware of. Making Tax Digital From 1 April 2019 it will be a legal requirement for all VAT registered businesses with a turnover over £85,000 to keep digital records for VAT purposes and provide VAT return information to HMRC using functional compatible software. If you are affected it means you need to act now and look to move your books/records into an electronic form ahead of the 2019 start date. If you don’t act HMRC will look to hand out penalties and fines. The team at Wright Vigar will make sense of what this means for you and ensure you remain compliant with HMRC legislation. Legal updates for Businesses Businesses need to know where they stand in their business relationships - this presentation will look at some recent cases concerning what constitutes a valid and binding agreement. The specialist team at Andrew & Co will also look at some of the recent and proposed changes in employment law and commercial property law that may impact your business. Attendees will be able to provide feedback to the Partnership and the Council and to network with their peers. Registration is open to all headteachers, deputy headteachers and acting headteachers as well as the CEOs of Multi-Academy Trusts and their deputies. This focus has been requested by school leaders following feedback from the June leadership briefings.  We are hoping to be able to provide schools with some 'top tips' for writing an effective school self evaluation. Time The development sessions will be run following each of the leadership briefing sessions between 12:30 and 13:30. Content to be covered We will be sharing best practise and top tips and envisage that the second 30 mins (or longer) could be used for schools to work on their own self evaluation. Therefore, if you are going to join the session,  it would be useful to bring your Self Evaluation document with you and examples of how you track and measure impact.
