Hykeham Junior Sailing - Saturday Sessions


Safe and Fun Junior Sailing Come and practice your sailing, learn new skills, meet new friends and have fun on the water. This session is run by volunteers with Safety Boat Cover and overseen by a Senior Instructor. A parent or other responsible adult is required to stay on site and will be encouraged to get involved and help. We will provide: the boats, the activities and buoyancy aids.  You will need to provide: something suitable to wear (wetsuit and water shoes or sailing boots), towel and a change of clothes (You will get wet!), a snack and drink and a parent or other responsible adult to be on site. Booking is essential - Places are limited - so book early. As security at operating sites increases, as well as changes in security procedures in the hiring of vehicles, the risks to commercial fleet drivers in the potential theft or hijacking of their vehicle for terrorism purposes also increases. Terrorism Risk and Incident Prevention (TRIP) is a comprehensive 7-hour (1 day) driver awareness training course, designed for all commercial fleet drivers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to operate safely and reduce the risks associated with terrorism. This industry critical training will help fleet operators mitigate the ever-increasing risk to both drivers and vehicles in relation to potential terrorist incidents where vehicles are used as a weapon, as seen in the recent Barcelona, London Bridge, Finsbury Park, Stockholm, Berlin and Nice terrorist attacks. Course content includes: Vehicle as a Weapon (VAAW) attacks Counter terrorism – the law and legislation Criminal Environment – Financial Implications to the transport industry Faces of Terror – Crime, preventative and safeguarding measures ‘Eyes and Ears’ – What HGV Drivers can do Security and Theft Prevention Protecting the logistic supply chain Fuel Theft – Liquid Gold Driver Safety – Hijacking Incidental Terrorism – the Criminal Opportunist Police and Security Services – Domestic crime/terror event Costs IMPORTANT: If drivers wish to have their details uploaded to the DSA website so its counts towards their 35 hours DCPC, then they need to ensure they bring £9.95 cash to cover the upload fee. You will need to notify the trainer on the day.(£9.95 Upload fee is £8.75 ex.VAT plus £1 administration (which includes certificate) plus VAT).  In order for a driver to be accredited with the Driver CPC hours they must complete the entire course and arrive for the course promptly and on time. Lincoln - FSB Lincolnshire Members' Meeting


FSB Lincolnshire are holding a series of three Meetings for FSB Members across Lincolnshire  during September at locations that will ensure all Members have the opportunity to attend. The meetings will include chances to network with other local members and make new contacts. The brief informal programme will also involve: Find out more about current FSB campaigns that will help small businesses in Lincolnshire and beyond. There will be chances to become more involved FSB is now working on over 50 policy issues but what are the priorities for Lincolnshire. Help to decide on which issues will be the focus for activity locally Hear updates about local support for business growth such as the Greater Lincolnshire LEP and the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub The Area Leaders will highlight the success of the new FSB Volunteer structure and what their plans are to continue that success We already have two Special Interest Groups, one concerned with Wolds Markets Towns and the other to work on Digital issues. You may have ideas for other Special Interest Groups Lincolnshire County Council have confirmed that senior officers with business related roles will be attending our Members Meetings during the week leading up to the Local Enterprise Partnership Conference. They will be updating us on business issues from the public sector point of view, especially with the EU Exit date of March 2019 becoming ever closer. They will also provide information regarding the current Business Support offer and predictions for the support landscape post EU Exit. The officer attending our meeting will be: Cllr Colin Davie, Executive Councillor, Economy & Place. The meetings are free to attend for Members and business guests and refreshments will be provided. Remember to bring your business cards. Keep an eye on future editions of Bitesize for updates. This meeting will follow the LEP Conference morning sessions: The Annual Conference of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership will be held at the Lincolnshire Showground on 28 September and FSB will be there. Our Development Manager will be on some of the guest panels that will discuss issues such as skills, energy and water, digitalisation and robotics. The FSB exhibition stand will be available to provide Membership information and gain leads for new member appointments.
