This course is all about how to use social media to communicate more effectively with parents - and how to avoid the pitfalls! Millions of parents (and pupils) use social media every day. At best it can be a very powerful tool. At worst social media can endanger your pupils, your staff and your reputation. In this introduction to the subject we'll examine the growth of social media, explore the pros and cons, help you decide which social media platform is right for your school, consider the problems that social media presents, make you more aware of child safety issues and look at how you can safeguard your staff. You'll also find out how to deal with attacks on social media from abusive parents on Facebook and Twitter! 8 things you'll learn on the social media for schools course... 1. The new social media landscape.2. Is social media right for our school?3. Which social media platform should we use?4. Safeguarding staff and pupil safety - policies used by other schools.5. How leading schools use Twitter to broadcast messages to parents.6. Best practice when using Facebook.7. What to do when someone attacks your school on social media.8. Other tips and tools. ART We are inviting teachers to participate in a series of focus group discussions about their experiences of non-examination assessment (NEA) in GCSEs. Bydd lluniaeth ysgafn a chyfle i rwydweithio ag athrawon eraill ym mhob sesiwn. Byddwn yn defnyddio'r canfyddiadau o'r ymchwil hon i lywio'r ffordd y caiff cymwysterau eu dylunio a'u datblygu yn y dyfodol, er enghraifft wrth ystyried sut y gall cymwysterau gefnogi'r cwricwlwm newydd yng Nghymru. Os hoffech gyfrannu eich barn yn y grŵp ffocws hwn, archebwch le drwy gofrestru. Mae lleoedd yn gyfyngedig felly dim ond ar ôl cadarnhau y gallwch ddod y dylech gofrestru. Gofynnwn hefyd mai dim ond un athro o bob pwnc sy'n dod o bob ysgol. Os byddwch yn cofrestru ac yna'n methu â dod, gallwch ganslo eich lle drwy EventBrite i roi'r cyfle i rywun arall gymryd rhan. Os hoffech gyfrannu at yr ymchwil hon ond ni allwch ddod i unrhyw un o'r grwpiau ffocws hyn, cysylltwch â [email protected] Rhowch wybod os oes gennych unrhyw ofynion dietegol neu fynediad. Am wybodaeth ynglŷn â'r ffordd rydym yn defnyddio ac yn storio data personol, a'ch hawliau yn hyn o beth, gallwch ddarllen yr hysbysiad preifatrwydd yma. Nodwch, cynhelir y grŵp ffocws hwn drwy gyfrwng y Saesneg.
