Dyspraxia Support Group Teesside offer support and assistance to local people affected by dyspraxia. We want to meet dyspraxic individuals regular through meetings arranged. Looking to arrange a walk for parents and dyspraxic children at Tees Barrage, Stockton on Tees. Looking to do activities for dyspraxic children over the summer holidays like handwriting, art and much more. There will be opportunities to meet parents who have dyspraxic children. SEND EHC Plan Parent/Carer Workshop & Information Sessions April to July 2018


This workshop / information event is for parents and carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities who are in the process of being assessed for or issued with an Education, Health and Care Plan, transferring from a statement of educational needs to an EHC Plan or those who would like more information about the process. Professionals working with families with children and young people with SEND are also welcome to attend. Places must be booked. The session will cover:   SEN Support in mainstream schools How to request an EHC assessment. What the EHC assessment entails.  How an EHC Plan is developed. What an EHC Plan looks like. What the timescales for the process are. How to access a support worker to help you through the process including help to complete the parent/carer and children/young peoples section of the form. EIHA L2 Coaching Course : Billingham


Classroom Venue: Billingham Forum, Kingsway, Billingham TS23 2LJ * Lecture room is located on the first floor. Access is via stairs.   Start Times:   Saturday – 09:00 am to 17:30 pm approx. Sunday   – 09:00 am to 17:30 pm approx. Ice Session: Same Venue Ice Time:      Saturday – 16.00 to 17.30         Pre Course Study Prior to attending the course, learners must complete the UK Coaching online e-learning module. go to: learninghub.ukcoaching.org/store Certificates must be taken with you to the EIHA Coaching Course as evidence of completion             How to Coach: Plan, Do, Review             All pre course requirements are listed on the EIHA web site in the Coaching section All participants must wear an approved Ice hockey helmet for the on ice session. Players under the age of 18 must also wear a full face cage. Attendance at ALL sessions is compulsory. Attendees must be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading, writing and comprehension). Attendees should have a good working knowledge of the sport, the rules and the terminology of the game of Ice Hockey. You must be 16 on the first day of a Level 1 course and 18 on the first day of a Level 2 course. To participate in this Coaching Course you must be able to skate in accordance with the attached criteria and demonstrate this during the on-ice session. Please remember to bring skates, gloves, helmet and hockey stick for the on ice session. Please bring a notepad and pen. Lunch is not provided (there are no on site catering facilities or food permitted in the venue).   Attendees are not permitted to consume alcohol before or while attending a course or workshop. The Instructor will ask the delegate to leave if they are found doing so. The cost of the course is £135.00 per person  Please ensure that your course has been paid for prior to course date. If payment has not been made and processed before the course start date the candidate will be refused entry. If you are unable to attend for any reason please let me know as soon as possible, as we have a waiting list.  Failure to do so will result in full/or part payment being forfeited, as follows: Non-attendance without notice – full fee Cancellation with less than 1 week’s notice – no charge if place is filled otherwise 75% of course fee Cancellation with a minimum of one week’s notice – no charge if place is filled, otherwise 50% of course fee. Minimum Skating Proficiency to attend Coaching Courses: To attend, and pass an EIHA coaching course coaches must be able to demonstrate and execute the following skills on ice with proficiency and under control:  Skate forward Carry out tight turn in both directions Stop moving in all directions Skate backwards Crossover efficiently forwards and backwards Pivot forwards to backwards and backwards to forward Stop on both feet forward & backward Must show a good understanding of the mechanics of shooting Must be able to demonstrate stick handling and passing and pass receiving elements to a competent standard. Demonstrate an understanding of teaching techniques as applied in teaching progressions (Whole part whole) Note: should you not be able to demonstrate the above during the course due to injury or illness you must notify us before attending the course. Should your condition be of a temporary nature you may at our discretion be assessed separately. The assessment will be carried out at a location as designated by the Association. The full cost of the assessment will be the responsibility of the candidate and payment will be required in advance. Qualification will not be issued until such time as assessments have been completed.
