Light Parade Workshops - For young people!


Creative Workshops for young people! Technology merges with Arts and Crafts during this set of exciting workshops for young people! On the 11th November, the whole community will get together and parade a river of lit lanterns and floats throughout the streets of Chelmsford. We are going to eliminate the darkness and create a magical Light Parade which symbolizes Peace. These workshops are for young people in particular 7 - 18-year-olds' to meet up over seven Friday's to build and create the floats and lanterns. The young people will work with tech, electronic and creative specialists to build the parade's items.  Workshops are held in Chelmsford Central Library in the Ideas Hub Cafe space. Every Friday from 4 pm till 5 pm  Dates are: 28th September  5th October 12th October 19th October 26th October - (half term) 2nd November 9th November The Parade is on Sunday 11th of November. Parents, friends and all are welcome to join us.

FabLab Essex at THE CREATORSPACE Basildon Library


Essex FabLab meet up - after hours - at the Basildon Library, Creatorspace.  Suitable for Makers, Crafters, Digital Nomads and Jedi - anybody who likes to do things with hard or soft Tech and their hands (or feet !) .  Bring a laptop if you can, loaded with SketchUp Make, Scratch , Fusion360 if you can and anything else you want to talk about.  Please Note - very important - make sure you print this ticket and bring it with you as you will need to show it to the security guard at the front door of the library as the door will be locked. Ring the bell on the left side of the main entrance to the library in St Martins Square.  If you are coming by car contact the organiser and we will send you directions on where to park for free. We will be looking at 3D printing, Raspberry Pi's, Arduino Robots , embroidery Sewing machines , anything else you want to talk about or make - But  let me know by email at least one day before so we can bring the right people and equipment.  This week we will focus on our new CODO DOJO group. Essex Codo Dojo It costs money to run a FabLab and it would help if each person attending could donate at least £2 ( less than a cup of coffee and a far better treat for your brain ! )

Evening Basildon/Stanford-Le-Hope (One Tree Hill) area 6+9 Week Intensive Body Transformation Course After the major success of previous Courses the 6+9 Week Body Transformation has become a permanent fixture of The PT Barn. On this course clients have been able to shed up to 7% Body Fat in just 6 weeks as well as amazing changes in body shape and tone. What’s more important is that the course teaches you how to live a healthier lifestyle and ways to change thought processes once the 6/9 weeks are up. You can expect big improvements in fitness levels, self-confidence and many other health related issues. The class involves a wide mix of body weight training, resistance training and high impact cardio training. Peace Poems 1918 - 2018: Half Term Poetry Workshops (7 - 11 year olds)


Unlock the stories of WW1 through taking a look at artifacts from Chelmsford Museum's handling collection and get inspired by Poet and Spoken Word Artist - Kelli-Marie, in a workshop where you'll write a poem for the Peace Poem competition - giving you a chance to win £100! Competition ends on November 1st at Noon.  This Half Term workshop is perfect for young people who like to rap, write poetry, stories or have an interest in history! Held in the Ideas Hub's Gallery space in Chelmsford Central Library.  This workshop is funded by National Lottery Players via the Heritage Lottery Fund.
