Chippenham Business Breakfast

Our Chippenham Business Breakfast provides great networking opportunities, alongside some informative talks. We offer the option of a Continental breakfast, as well as the usual Full English breakfast, for those of you who prefer a lighter option. Introducing our speaker: Donna Kehoe, Bank of England  Donna joined the Bank of England in 1986 and was a Business Relationship Manager for the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) working within the Bank’s Technology department. Donna has held a number of positions within the Bank in Banking, Financial Stability and Technology. "As a general rule, I’m not a fan of networking events, but one of the very few exceptions is the MHA Monahans Business Breakfast. The event attracts a really good mix of Wiltshire-based businesses and professional organisations, some of whom have become clients. The calibre of speakers is such that I’ve invariably come away with useful hints and tips to apply to my own businesses – invaluable. The event is hosted at the Chippenham Golf Club in the modern conference room with breakfast provided. Easy access to the M4 J17 means that I can be back at my desk at 9:15a.m. without missing the day ahead." Mark Gray, Managing Director, RPM

Working "on purpose"

When we set off to work we fully intend giving our best and getting the most out of the day. But what happens? Too many of us become distracted by short term crises, other people’s to do lists, or we just lose sight of the big picture. We don’t do it deliberately, but we can often leave the day feeling exhausted, frustrated and disappointed. We vow to do better tomorrow but instead we spend our lives trying to catch up.   “We never shall have any more time. We have, and we have always had, all the time there is” (Arnold Bennett. ‘How to Live on 24 Hours a Day’). No one can manage time, but you can make better decisions about how to use it. This is really a workshop about how you manage you.  A chance to look at how you make choose to use your 24 hours so that you can feel in control, make best use of your skills and talents and still have energy left over for everything else you do in your day. The working “on purpose” workshop will give you: A much-needed step off the hamster wheel so you can stand back and reassess how you use your time. An opportunity to remind yourself of what you are good at and the skills you should be making most use of. Reassess your objectives and the extent to which what you do is each day is taking you towards them. Clarity on what you want work to do for you and why you do it – how it supports your career and life aspirations. An insight into the compromises you are currently making in life to accommodate the demands of your work and the opportunity to assess the consequences of those compromises for you and those around you. You will come away with: A set of actions you have identified which will help you make better use of your working time and keep you “on purpose” One thing which you can action right away and to be held accountable for which will make a big difference to your working day. A realisation of how much control you have on how you organise yourself. Insight into the habits and beliefs which have held you back. The motivation and commitment to do something different. Ideas and inspiration from the group and your workshop leader.    Also included: A follow up free accountability call with the Change Agent to see how you are getting on with your one key action.  Refreshment and a lunch with your fellow business people. The Working “On Purpose” workbook.
