Building an Efficient Business

Your business must be registered on the Enterprise Action programme in order to attend this workshop. The key objective of a commercial organisation is to sell goods and services at a profit. For this to be achieved resources (inputs) must be acquired, transformed into outputs (goods and services) and distributed to their intended users in highly efficient and manageable ways. There are three basic ways of doing this: Use less inputs to achieve the same level of outputs Use the same level of inputs to achieve higher levels of outputs, Fine tune the transformation process (where your resources are being converted into finished goods and services.) In other words, to increase productivity you need to be thinking in terms of inbound logistics, (your activities concerned with acquiring resources) operations, (your activities concerned with transforming those resources) and outbound logistics (your activities concerned with distributing your outputs.) This one-day course takes a practical and hands-on approach to helping you 'boost productivity within your organisation. Part 1 What is meant by improved productivity, how can it be measured and where do I begin? Productivity as a process of transformation - what are you doing and how are you doing it? Telling your story through numbers - simple techniques to measure any aspect of your productivity (no prior maths skills required!) Pinpointing challenges and preparing for action - identifying  the "vital few" breakthroughs - a small number of actions that will drive through a significant increase in productivity over a 12 month period. Part 2  Tried and tested techniques to improve business efficiency will be explored and applied to areas within Firm infrastructure - General Management and R&D Supply Chain Management - Control  Effective Asset Utilisation Customer Service - Pre and Post sales service Human Resource Development - Retention and Training.

Award for Personal Licence Holders Shropshire

HABC Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders Our speaker, Charles Hennell Cole, has many years of experience of delivering training and managing licensed retail operations. He first delivered the personal licence holder's qualification in 2006. He has previously worked as a pub, hotel and restaurant manager.  You will be sent the Highfield workbook the week before the course, which you will find beneficial to complete in your own time. You then come to see us for the 1-day session and take the multiple-choice official APLH exam. If you are currently working in licensed premises, it will help your learning if you read the premises licence - particularly the operating schedule - before you attend the course. The course fee includes all course materials along with the Awarding Body learner registration and examination fee. Lunch is included (let us know about special requirements). The qualification is assessed through a one-hour, 40-question multiple-choice examination. Candidates must score at least 28/40 in order to pass. Please let us know in advance if you have any special assessment requirements, for instance if you are dyslexic or visually impaired, and require us to make any reasonable adjustments to the examination. Successful candidates will receive their official Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders certificate normally within 2 weeks of sitting the exam. You will then be able to apply for your Personal Licence subject to certain criteria. Please bring with you original photographic proof of identification to show the exam invigilator - a photo driving licence or passport is ideal. You will not be able to sit the exam without it. If you are not able to take the exam for this reason, you will not be entitled to a refund, although we will assist you with sitting the exam on an alternative date. Let us know in advance if you do not have a passport or driving licence, and we will look at other options to verify your identity. This HABC accredited qualification is for those aged 18 years+ working in or preparing to work in any industry that involves the retail sale of alcohol. It is a requirement for anyone who wishes to hold a personal licence. This qualification covers the main requirements of the Licensing Act 2003 and the legal responsibilities of a personal licence holder. Anyone wishing to authorise the sale of alcohol by retail on licensed premises must hold a personal licence. Subjects covered include purpose and period of validity of a personal licence, the application process and legal duties of a personal licence and licensing law. Cancellations: you may cancel up to 21 days before the booked exam date and receive a refund less a £30 admin fee. There is no VAT chargeable on this course, but there is VAT charged on the Eventbrite booking fee element. Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC) Approved Centre no. 13519.
