Big Chocolate Tea

Big Choc Tea Big Chocolate Tea...it's a piece of cake to make a difference! Is your whisk at the ready? Are your cupboards brimming with baking supplies? Great, because it’s time to get chocola-tea! We believe that when a child gets poorly, they should not be separated from their family and need their Mums, Dads, brothers and sisters by their side. Through taking part this year you’re helping to support around 4,000 families with a sick child in hospital. We’ll be going all out chocola-tea throughout the month of May but you can hold your event at any point in the year. So request your free fundraising pack, pick a date that suits you, your colleagues, friends or family, bake some delicious treats, and raise lots of money! Could you raise £30 during Big Chocolate Tea and support a family for one night? To request your free chocola-tea fundraising pack, please email [email protected] with your full name, address and contact details or call 0207 638 4066.

Retouching for Intermediate Users - Tim Wallace

This is a unique chance to attend a retouching session with award winning commercial photographer Tim Wallace. Tim shoots around the world creating advertising imagery for companies such as Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover and many more high end brands and has a reputation for his high end dramatic work however Tim very rarely gives classes on retouching. This class is the second of two that Tim is giving and is based at the intermediate level of retouching. Tim will be taking you through some of his work and giving you the unique ability to see how these images were carted and created from a retouching point of view. He will be working through what is required to have in place when shooting and editing composites so that not only do you understand how these are crafted but also what you need to think of at the point were you are shooting the files for retouching later. We will look at how we effectively blend layers with ease as well as more advanced techniques that Tim had developed himself for his won workflow such as colour matching two separate layers into a single image for a much more authentic and accurate final piece of work. Experience required: This course is based at people who have some experience in photoshop with the basics and would like to be guided through some more involved techniques step by step to improve the overall quality of their edits but also to allow them to understand how they can become more open and create with their work. A great deal of this class will be based around building images such as composites. Equipment to bring: Laptop (with Adobe Photoshop installed, a trial can be downloaded from Adobe's Website) Selection of your own images to work on Notebook and pen About the photographer: Commercial Photographer Tim Wallace is an award winning commercial photographer based in Manchester England and working Internationally his work is often described as both creative and dramatic. Tim Wallace’s work spans both the commercial and advertising sectors and has been at the forefront of both fields for over a decade. Based in Manchester England, Tim’s work takes him to all 4 corners of the globe shooting for some of the most iconic brands through his transport photography, from supercars to private jets and luxury yachts. Tim works internationally with many high clients across the globe such as Jaguar Land Rover, Peugeot, Mercedes and Morgan as well as shooting some of the worlds most iconic brands such as Lamborghini, Aston Martin and Ferrari in the UK and Europe to Dodge, Chevrolet and Mustang in the US. Over recent years he has also broadened his AmbientLife brand to include other transport related work such as HGV Truck and large vehicle photography, Aviation and aircraft work, engineering and logistics. Tim first started out in the darkrooms of the Daily Mail where he developed his unique appreciation for tone and contrast and even today he is very much an advocate of the benefits of shooting and learning the photography craft through first learning to shoot and develop film properly, as well as learn to print that subsequent work in the darkroom. Having had work published in the Times, Guardian and Independent, Tim's career was clearly on track from a young age. Fast forward to the UK recession in the late 80's and Tim decided to join the Royal Navy and went on to serve with 42 Commando Royal Marines in many parts of the world. In 2006 Tim decided it was time to go back to a career in photography and so established his own company, AmbientLife, with its very strong idea's towards both its goals and its own creative output. Over the past decade AmbientLife have worked with a who's who of automotive royalty, from Jaguar, Aston Martin and beyond. Tim's work is highly sought after, and this is driven also by his string of awards including British Commercial Advertising Photographer of the Year, and the acclaimed UK Motor Industry Car Photographer of the Year award to name but a few. His ability to capture and create shots that showcase not only a car as it appears visually but also its sheer personality and soul are much sought after and often written about when he talks to magazines and in interviews that he gives in the Europe and US.
