Charity Wine Tasting

Join Chris and the Bodnant wine cellar team as we host a charity wine tasting supporting Ty Gobaith. On Friday 16th November guests will be able to sample a range of wines and Welsh spirits and get the chance to support an excellent cause in the process. Wine tasting events are a regular feature at Bodnant – Chris Kewin, of the Bodnant Wine Cellar, said wine tasting evenings were always well supported and advised anyone interested in going along on the day to book now to avoid disappointment as places are limited. Get your tickets here from the Bodnant website or use Eventbrite: minimum donation £10 per ticket please “Bodnant raises money for our chosen charity Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice throughout the year and we are hoping to add to that this year with our biggest wine tasting yet. The hospice does such wonderful work in the community and Bodnant has been supporting the charity for a long time now. We are delighted to be involved with such a worthy cause and will be trying to raise as much as possible at our event on Friday, November 16.” The Bodnant wine cellar team will be on hand to offer advice to those coming along. On the evening visitors will be able to sample up to 50 wines from all over the world and tables will be hosted by our experts and suppliers to the Bodnant Wine Cellar. In addition, this year we welcome Welsh gin maker Matt Rowland from the North Star Distillery and Michael Wheeler, brand ambassador from the Welsh whisky company Penderyn.” Doors will open for the event at 5pm and close at 8.30pm. Christmas Grotto at Gwrych Castle

Whether marking a child's first Christmas or honouring an age-old family tradition, a visit to the Victorian Christmas Grotto at Gwrych Castle is the perfect way to start the festive season, as well as an opportunity to make special memories that will be remembered forever. Father Christmas will be paying a special visit to the old Bakehouse which has been transformed into a winter wonderland. Journey through Gwrych Castle groundsbefore meeting Father Christmas in his tower grotto. You are welcome to take as many photographs with Father Christmas as you wish. As children wait anxiously to meet Father Christmas they’ll write their letter to him and post it in his North Pole postbox at the castle. Each child will take home a special gift from Father Christmas. The Grotto is located in the restored Bakehouse at Gwrych Castle. When you arrive, please park on the castle's main terrace. You will be met by one of Father Christmas's elves who will show you the pathway up to the grotto. There is a short walk with a gentle incline to reach the grotto from the main terrace. The booked timeslot is for an hour - please arrive promptly as the whole experience will take approximately 45 minutes. The timeslots are at 11am; 12pm; 1pm; 2pm and 3pm. Due to limited space each child visiting Santa’s Grotto may be accompanied by a maximum of two adults. Ticket price is £10 per child. Terms and conditions apply – full non-refundable, non-transferable pre-payment required at time of booking.
