Local Biz Networking

BizSpace Barnsley would like to welcome you to our Business Centre for a Local Biz Networking Event in association with Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce. -          Are you a South Yorkshire based company? -          Would you like to connect with other companies in the area? We have the answer! Come along to our Local Biz Networking event and introduce yourself and your company to other likeminded businesses wishing to expand and grow their client base in and around South Yorkshire. This is a Bi-Monthly event which is based around pure networking with a local vibe. Teas and coffee will be provided and at every event we will invite an interactive speaker along to talk about the latest 'Hot Topic' This months speaker is Mark Simpson from OMG – Oh My Ganache! Mark started OMG – Oh My Ganache for several reasons – His love chocolate was one but mainly it was for his family. One of the first efforts was rum & raisin for his dad which he enjoyed but it was getting more difficult to find. Mark thought it cannot be too difficult to make so decided to have a go and thankfully it was not and it turned out great. Marks next plan is to develop a free from range for vegans, diabetics, those with gluten, diary and other allergies, again with the inspiration from his family. In this interactive session we will be blind tasting a variety of chocolate flavours, seeing if we can come up with new pairings, finding out where Mark gets his inspiration from and showing the versatility of chocolate for any occasion. For more information or if you are interested in hosting one of the speaker sessions please get in touch with Alice Blackband at BizSpace Barnsley on [email protected] Phone: 01226 241427 or Sarah Hattersley at Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce on [email protected] Phone: 07376 801688

Last One Running

Are you up for a different sort of running challenge? Test your pacing, stamina and finally speed with this knockout style race that suits all levels of runners from leisurely weekend joggers to marathon veterans! HOW IT WORKS: Runners will have 25 minutes to complete the 1st 2 mile loop, finishing in the holding area. All runners back within 25mins will continue, the next loop will start at 11:55 and must be completed in 24 mins. Any runner not finished inside the time limit will be disqualified. The time will be reduced by one minute for every loop until there is only one runner at the start line, this runner will be the last one running! Men and women will not compete against each other, separate prizes will be awarded for last male running and last female running. If we have two or more competitors remaining who all finish outside the allotted time for that loop the winner will be the one who finishes that loop first. This race is not about being the fastest! Remember at the start of each loop all surviving runners are on an equal standing. This is an event that suits all level of runners from 5k park runners all the way to Marathon and Ultra runners. Pacing is everything! Do you have what it takes to be The Last One Running for RSPCA North Wilts?! RACE INFO: The run will begin at 11.30am sharp. Registration on the day will be open from 10.00 – 11.15. There will be a short race brief and group warm up in the holding area at 11.15.  This is a charity event with all proceeds from the day going to RSPCA North Wiltshire. All online entrants will receive a sponsorship envelope and are asked to try and raise a minimum of £20 for RSPCA North Wilts. A prize will be awarded to the person who raises the most funds. There will be a bag drop section within the holding area where you can keep a small bag with water, snacks/gels etc. to access during the race.

Hatha Yoga Flow Class Mondays - Wootton

These classes will continue throughout Summer :-) This Hatha Yoga Flow class is aimed at those with a basic level of fitness and mobility. Beginners welcome, but be prepared for a challenge.    The intention is for you to leave each class feeling re-energised and refreshed, bringing flexibility back to your joints and muscles, and with a clearer and peaceful mind. The emphasis is on core strength flexibility and balance, working through core yoga poses as we progress through classes. I will provide modifications for you as needed to help you build up to peak poses as you build your own strength and flexibility over classes.  I'll also introduce you to some breathing and relaxation techniques to help bring peace to the mind and body.  As we progress through classes the aim is for you to get a good grasp of key yoga poses, and how to adapt and modify them for you, taking into account any limitations due to injury or current flexibility and strength.   If you're already familiar with the poses, you'll get some useful tips on alignment, its always good to get back to the basics of a pose.  You will become familiar with linking poses into short sequences and flows, and learn some basic breathing and relaxation exercises to help encourage a calm mind and release tension.    For those those returning to yoga after a break, beginners or more experienced Yogis looking for a local class, drop in.  This might just be the class for you. Classes open to all, but aimed at those with a fair level of basic fitness. £10 per session. Drop-ins Welcome.  Just bring a mat and yourself. And water when its hot. Reserve yourself a space by registering a ticket through Eventbrite or Facebook (no payment necessary until the evening).
