LLANELLI 6 A SIDE FOOTBALL

Footballers in Llanelli will be able to celebrate the World Cup with reduced entry, if they sign up to a 6 a side league this summer. The competition is offering reduced entry to all teams that sign up, with Head Of New Business Sam Jones commenting: “Although the domestic season is over, this is going to be a big summer for football, with everyone gripped by World Cup fever. We are thrilled with how its gone so far at Coleg sir Gar – and as it’s a World Cup year, we thought it only right to give the reduced entry in recognition of the interest that we have already seen. All standards are catered for with Sam saying: “Whether you are as efficient as the German team, as unpredictably brilliant as Brazil or a first time qualifier like Serbia, then all standards are catered for.” When plans were first announced for the league last month, it was announced at the Leisure Leagues star prize was to be a holiday to Germany for the whole team, sponsored by the sporting goods firm Uhlsport, which, said Sam, “is the best and biggest prize of any league in the area”. In addition to the health benefits to players and the chance to win the holiday, there is another reason to sign up too, Leisure Leagues are the only football provider who donates the profits from the league to charities – with Cancer Research UK and The Dogs Trust amongst the recent beneficiaries. Sam added: “We have been running leagues for 30 years and we are really looking forward to bringing our unique brand of community focussed football here – leagues tend to become real hubs for everyone locally and we know that is the case in Llanelli.” Anyone who wants to register a team can do so at https://www.leisureleagues.net/league/coleg-sir-gar-football-academy/llanelli-monday or for more information they can call 0333 123 2340.
