Lake Hartwell Music Festival

H.Y.D.R.A. of Hart County, Inc. is hosting its 6th annual Lake Hartwell Music Festival to be held on Saturday, May 26th 2018 at the end of old 29/Long Point Hartwell, GA! Mark your calendars for the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend to Party with a Purpose for H.Y.D.R.A. on Lake Hartwell. This years lineup will have a large variety of music. Our lineup for this year is: 8:00 - 10:00 PM Ashland Craft 7:00 - 8:00 PM The Reservoir Dogs 6:00 - 7:00 PM 7 Day Weekend 5:00 - 6:00 PM Haldn Vang 4:00 - 5:00 PM Red Oak String Band 3:00 - 4:00 PM HCHS Jazz Band 2:00 - 3:00 PM Jon Herschell 1:00 - 2:00 PM Phil Duncan This years lineup should provide enjoyment for all. Phil Duncan and Jon Herschell will kick this years event off with their acoustic play and awesome voices. The HCHS Jazz Band will then take us on a jazz and blues Memorial Day tribute. This was such a hit last year that we had to have the group back. Then we look forward to hearing the Red Oak String Band, an acoustic music group that plays a mix of traditional bluegrass, folk and blues tunes with and Americana twist. They have been playing to the Athens, GA crowd for over 10 years and will be a fun group. Jake Halden Vang is a ground-breaking artist who delivers exceptional live music experiences with soulful and fiery performances of an advanced style and flares that is omnipresent in his music. Retired Lavonia City Manager Gary Fesperman and Edward Morgan, locals know him as Vivian from the Hartwell Suns husband, play with 7 Day Weekend. 7 Day Weekend will be playing slow smooth and sexy classic R&B and Motown. You may have seen John Atkinson playing around NE GA and the Upstate but if you have never seen him perform on the big stage you are missing out. Add the talented group of Reservoir Dogs with John you are guaranteed a Rock-n-Roll performance you will be talking about for days. This year we are pleased to have from the Voice local favorite Ashland Craft, from Piedmont, S.C. With her heavily influenced Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert style many families fell in love with Ashland on the Voice and are looking forward to being able to hear her Country & Southern Rock performance at this years show. Combining the abundance of 8 live bands, food and retail vendors, activities, snacks, crafts, and the beautiful waters of Lake Hartwell as a backdrop, this will be an amazing holiday-weekend event! The excitement begins at 2:00 p.m. Bring the family, some chairs, and a cooler (no glass allowed). This is a party with a purpose; all proceeds will benefit H.Y.D.R.A. Hart Youth Development Resource Association, H.Y.D.R.A., offers year-round programs that provide support, education, and encouragement for our youth. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Kids 10 and under get in free. http://lakehartwellmusicfestival.com

Geoff Achison

$20 in advance, $25 at the door. Get your tickets today for the return of Geoff Achiso to High Cotton!! *** A jaw-dropping, crowd pleasing guitar virtuoso with a rich vocal style from Melbourne, Australia. ***He began playing in his father's dance band at the age of 13. He developed a passion for American blues and learned the rudiments of the art form.  In his early 20s he moved to Melbourne and joined with legendary local bluesman 'Dutch' Tilders. After several years with Dutch he departed to focus on his own music and embarked on an international campaign.  ***His first stop was the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA where he won the 'Albert King Award' and was offered an endorsement deal with Gibson Guitars. ***Geoff’s tri-continental touring schedule includes Australia, Europe & USA***He re-located to the USA for a time and he spent many months on the road performing countless live shows and recording his One Ticket, One Ride album there. In 2008 a Guitar Player magazine reader’s poll listed Geoff as one of the Top 10 ‘Hot New Guitarists’ on the US scene. He adores jamming with other musicians and has developed close musical relationships with many other artists including Georgia based songwriter/musician Randall Bramblett with whom he shares a ‘live’ album release, Jammin’ In The Attic. His annual Boxing Day Blues concert with Australian bluesman Chris Wilson has also resulted in a shared album release titled Box Of Blues. The passion for jamming has paid off on a personal level too with Geoff being invited onstage at various times with musical heroes such as Hubert Sumlin, Delbert McClinton, Jorma Kaukonen, legendary bassist George Porter JR, the Allman Brothers Band and even the great Les Paul.
