Rust en Vrede is back on top: Coenie Snyman’s incredible 2015s

Rust en Vrede was one of SA’s top wineries in the 90s and 2000s but, like many historical Stellenbosch properties, it has flown somewhat under the radar since then. Their 2015s are stupendous however, and firmly put Rust en Vrede back at the top. Now producing a slightly more elegant style, especially their Cabernets, Coenie Snyman will take you through all their 2015s, including their Single Vineyard wines and the 1694. We will also taste a few back vintages in this hedonistic red wine experience.

Future Proof Your Career

At the 2018 IABC World Conference, delegates explored the theme of how the communication profession is at a ‘crossroads’, even a ‘Renaissance’. Never before have we had so many tools and technology options to create compelling communication to reach our stakeholders, data to analyse our messaging, or been as valued by senior leaders to provide strategic counsel that will drive real business change.   However, as we look to future, communicators face the same workplace challenges being experienced by most industries in our rapidly changing world.   Numerous studies report that up to 50% of the jobs and occupations that exist today will not exist in the future. Conversely, futurists say that many of the jobs of the future, do not exist yet. This has resulted in a renewed focus on identifying and developing the skills, knowledge, competencies and capabilities required in 2020 and beyond.   Where does this position business communicators? What capabilities are required to be a leading business communicator in the future?   Join us on 26 July to hear the views of three experts as they discuss the skills, knowledge, competencies and capabilities needed to future-proof our careers in this rapidly changing landscape:   Distinguished Professor, Jim Macnamara, PhD, FAMI, CPM, FAMEC, PPRIA, from the University of Technology Sydney, has been an adviser to the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management on its global study to produce a Global Capabilities Framework for Communication Management, will present a summary of key findings, as well as findings from his own research into communications capabilities required for the future.                                                               Lucy Newcomb from Salt & Shein is one of Australia’s most well-regarded and influential executive recruiters and talent advisers in the corporate affairs, communication, government relations and investor relations space. Lucy has invaluable insights into the current Australian communication job market and the skills employers are looking for now and in the future.                                                               Claire Madden is a social researcher and demographer. The author or ‘Hello Gen Z’, Claire is widely regarded as the nation’s leading voice on multi-generational engagement and emerging social trends.                                                                    Event Details: When: 26 July 2018Where: Deloitte Australia (Level 9/225 George Street, Sydney)Time: 5.30 - 6:15 pm: Drinks, canapes and networking 6:15 - 7:30: Event and Q&ACost: $30 for members and $60 for non-members

Johannesburg Blockchain Conference

Blockchain truly is a revolutionary mechanism to bring everyone to the highest degree of accountability. Above anything else, the most critical application of Blockchain technology is to guarantee the validity of a transaction by recording it on a distributed system of registers, all of which are interconnected through a secure time-stamped mechanism. In today's digital information age, Blockchain represents a critical intersection between the financial world, social networking, and powerful decentralized networks. Stakeholders must formulate careful legal and business strategies that factor in the technology and infrastructure, as well as the corresponding market appetite and regulatory structures in rapidly evolving global markets. This Blockchain Technology Conference to be held on July 27, 2018 in Johannesburg aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of Blockchain technology by focusing on how to address the implementation challenges, make best use of the opportunities and benefit from the innovation and disruption that this technology brings along.
