September 2018 Networking Event: Unlocking the True Value of Inclusion and Diversity

Join our September Networking Event focusing on “Unlocking the True Value of Inclusion and Diversity”. Over the last 18 months there has been a massive shift in the way we approach diversity and understand the value of inclusion to harness diversity. In this talk, we will share with you what we know will have a truly positive impact in the way leaders and volunteers engage with a diversity of people. We know that visible diversity triggers certain dynamics of behaviour that requires people to make fewer assumptions, justify their point of view and deliver greater error detection which ultimately drives better decisions. However this dynamic can only be unlocked by inclusion. We know that inclusion brings value and unlocks diversity so now we need to help people understand the subtleties and value in what inclusion really is. So how can we help people understand the subtleties of what inclusion really is? Much broader than equity and fairness, the case for diversity and inclusion is underpinned by our capacity to demonstrate humility, adaptability and courage. To successfully engage and lead people from a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives will require cognitive humility and mental agility. This talk will examine what inclusive behaviour is and how we action and measure it. Leading inclusively is a complex, subtle and challenging project for most individuals and NFP organisations. Come and join us to learn how to help improve your volunteer program, workshop your ideas and improve your funded diversity and inclusion programs.
