Liskeard SOUP

The SOUP model is a powerful tool to start conversations, practice democracy and fund new projects/people/ideas in our neighbourhood, community or city. Established in Detroit in 2010, SOUP is a brilliant way to redevelop, reorganise and reimagine where we live – the projects that get funded are up to the community! How SOUP works: If you want to be in the audience on the night you will be asked for a £5 donation on the door. This gets you soup, Column Bakehouse bread and a vote! At the SOUP dinner on 20th June we'll be inviting four individuals or groups to pitch their project idea to the audience. Each pitch can last for up to four minutes. Audience members can then ask each presenter up to four questions after their presentation.   After the presentations, audience members are encouraged to discuss and debate what they've heard. They then vote for the project which they think is the most innovative and socially enterprising. The project with the highest number of votes will receive a small grant of £500, plus the takings of the door.   There will also be entertainment on the night! To find out more, visit https://liskeardsoup.org/  If you have any questions please call 01752 395028 or email [email protected]
