ZOSO

Zoso The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience formed in 1995 to perform the most accurate and captivating Led Zeppelin live show since the real thing. For Zoso, it's much more than just being a tribute. It's about touching a golden era in music. Zoso embodies Page, Plant, Bonham and Jones in their spirit, tightlywound talent and authenticity. Each band member has been carefully selected to portray both the appearance and playing styles of their Led Zeppelin counterparts. In eighteen successful years of touring, they have perfected their art. As one of the longest tenured Zeppelin tributes, Zoso's 2400 live shows around the world have established them as the most traveled and successful band in the market. Zoso's live shows are not about simply playing the right notes, they are about aura and feeling, harkening back to the unique atmosphere Led Zeppelin created. It's in the way they play: Each band member's mastery of authentic vintage instruments coupled with spoton vocals, guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, their compelling stage persona and distinct Led Zeppelin sound, with astounding visual imagery recreates the music, magic, and mystery of a Zeppelin concert. The impact is so powerful that band members constantly hear from young rockers that they were the catalyst behind turning them into new, diehard Zeppelin fans. Their passion, musical ability, showmanship and precise attention to detail earned them critical acclaim, name recognition and a loyal national following. The Los Angeles Times hailed the group as being "head and shoulders above all other Zeppelin tributes," and the Chicago SunTimes declared Zoso is "the closest to the original of any tribute."

TBRI® Caregiver Training: Introduction & Overview Grand Junction, CO

Parenting is challenging, particularly when you are parenting a child from a hard place.  Children from hard places include children who were born prematurely, have been abused and neglected, have been adopted internationally, and have special needs.  This training will focus on understanding the meaning of child behaviors, the brain chemistry of a child from a hard place, and how to help these children (and your family) heal and connect.  Participants will learn tools they can put into action with their children immediately. Audience: Caregivers and professionals.  This training is intended for caregivers who have achieved permanency for the children in their home and are no longer receiving services through child welfare.  It is also intended for the professionals working with families caring for children with traumatic histories. About TBRI®: Trust Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) is a parenting and intervention model developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross at the TCU Institute of Child Development. TBRI® is based on a solid foundation of neuropsychological theory and research, tempered by humanitarian principles. It is a family-based intervention that is designed for children who have experienced relationship-based traumas such as institutionalization, multiple foster placements, maltreatment, and/or neglect. Both Brooks Kaskela, MA and Jill Crewes, MSW, co-faciliators, have studied under Dr.Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross and their team at the TCU Institute of Child Development. The training will utilize the TBRI® curriculum developed by the Institute. Jill and Emma have received advanced training regarding this curriculum and have been qualified as TBRI Educators to present the content.

No previous yoga experience necessary. Just laughing, sizzle, and, of course, heavy breathing. Donation Policy: This event is NOT free, but you can make reservations for free and donate cash at the event, and that's what's confusing poor Eventbrite. I'm sorry the program can't figure me out! I've tried. Early birds can make their reservations up to two weeks before the event for suggested $20 donation. After, suggested donation is $30. Reservations are required. No drop-in students will be admitted. Why? Because there are special instructions before hand. (Don't worry; they're fun.)

James McMurtry

"Back before Napster and Spotify, we toured to promote record sales. Now we make records to promote tour dates."AUSTIN, Texas: James McMurtry spins stories with a poets pen (Long Island Sound)and a painters precision (She Loves Me). Proof: The acclaimed songwriters newComplicated Game. McMurtrys first collection in six years spotlights a craftsman inabsolutely peak form as he turns from political toward personal (These Things IveCome to Know, You Got to Me). The lyrical theme is mostly about relationships,McMurtry says. Its also a little about the big old world verses the poor little farmer orfisherman. I never make a conscious decision about what to write about.Complicated Game delivers McMurtrys trademark story songs time and again (CopperCanteen, Deavers Crossing), but the record brings a new (and certainly no lessenergetic) sonic approach. Simply put: McMurtry brings forth a another newmasterpiece.Howm I Gonna Find You Now, the records lead single boasts buoyant banjos anddriving drums endlessly energetic. Whiplash vocals further frenzy the beat. I've got acup of black coffee so I don't get lazy/I've got a rattle in the dashboard driving me crazy,McMurtry effectively raps. If I hit it with my fist, itll quit for a little while/Gonna have tostop to smoke in another mile/Headed into town gonna meet you at the mercantile/Takeyou to the Sonic get you grinning like a crocodile.Such vibrant vignettes consistently turn heads. They have for a quarter century now.Clearly, hes only improving with time. James McMurtry is one of my very few favoritesongwriters on Earth and these days he's working at the top of his game, saysAmericana all-star Jason Isbell. He has that rare gift of being able to make a listenerlaugh out loud at one line and choke up at the next. I dont think anybody writes betterlyrics. James writes like he's lived a lifetime, echoes iconic roots rocker JohnMellencamp. Yes. Spin South Dakota. Youll hear.Further evidence: McMurtrys Just Us Kids (2008) and Childish Things (2005). Theformer earned his highest Billboard 200 chart position in nearly two decades andnotched Americana Music Award nominations. Meanwhile, Childish Things scoredendless critical praise and spent six full weeks topping the Americana Music Radio chartin 2005 and 2006. In 2006, Childish Things won the Americana Music Associations Album of the Year and We Cant Make It Here was named the rapidly risingorganization's Song of the Year.Of course, Complicated Game doubles down on literate storytelling longtimeenthusiasts expect. Recall high watermarks past: Childish Things, Choctaw Bingo,Peter Pan, Levelland, and Out Here in the Middle only begin the list. (Yes, RobertEarl Keen covered those last two, Levelland remaining a live staple.) Just Us Kidsalone includes fan favorites Hurricane Party, Ruby and Carlos and Youd aThought. High watermarks deliver equal measures depth and breadth and piercehearts with sharp sociopolitical commentary (Fireline Road).More history: McMurtry critically lauded first album Too Long in the Wasteland (1989)was produced by John Mellencamp and marked the beginning of a series of acclaimedprojects for Columbia and Sugar Hill Records. In 1996, McMurtry received a Grammynomination for Long Form Music Video for Where'd You Hide the Body. Additionally, ItHad to Happen (1997) received the American Indie Award for Best Americana Album. In 2004, McMurtry released the universally lauded Live in Aught-Three on CompadreRecords. The following year, Childish Things notched arguably his most critical praise, spending six weeks at No. 1 on the Americana Music Radio Chart in 2005 and 2006. InSeptember 2006, Childish Things and We Cant Make It Here won the AmericanaMusic Awards for Album and Song of the Year, respectively. McMurtry received moreAmericana Music Award nominations for 2008s Just Us Kids. This album marked hishighest Billboard 200 chart position in more than nearly two decades. In 2009, Live in Europe was released, capturing the McMurtry bands first European tourand extraordinary live set. Along with seasoned band members Ronnie Johnson, DarenHess, and Tim Holt, the disc features special guests Ian McLagan (The Faces) and JonDee Graham (True Believers, Skunks). Also, for the first time ever, video of the JamesMcMurtry Bands live performance is available on the included DVD.The poignant lyrics of his immense catalog still ring true today. In 2011, We Cant MakeIt Here was cited among The Nations Best Protest Songs Ever. We Cant Make ItHere, Bob Lefsetz wrote, has stood the test of time because of its unmitigated truth.McMurtry tours year round and consistently throws down unparalleled powerhouseperformances. The Washington Post notes: Much attention is paid to James McMurtryslyrics and rightfully so: He creates a novels worth of emotion and experience in fourminutes of blisteringly stark couplets. What gets overlooked, however, is that hes anaccomplished rock guitar player ... serious stuff, imparted by a singularly serious band.
