Summer Pruning

Our summer pruning workshop will introduce you to pruning apple, pear, cherry and plum trees. We’ll cover basic techniques and methods to start you pruning with confidence at home. The course is based at our orchard in Ravenscraig Walled Garden and covers some theory about pruning but is largely practical and outside, allowing hands on practice and question time. Summer pruning should take place from the end of July so this workshop gives you the chance to learn some skills before its time to prune your own trees. The workshop will be led by Appletreeman Andrew Lear, an expert on growing fruit in the Scottish climate (and a key influence on the development of our Ravenscraig orchard). More information about Andrew on his website (https://plantsandapples.com/) There is disabled parking on site and the venue is wheelchair accessible. Booking information Booking is required as spaces are limited. Please book using the 'Register' button above. Full price: £20 Greener Kirkcaldy members: £18 Concessions: £10 (low waged/unwaged) Subsidised: Free (applicable means tested benefits)  If you have any problems booking, or any questions, please phone 01592 858458 or email [email protected]

Festival player theatre: The Winters Tale

The Festival Players Theatre Company is a professional theatre company delivering the best in open-air Shakespeare, committed to presenting the very best in touring theatre. This years production will be THE WINTER'S TALE. Written by Shakespeare in his later years, The Winter’s Tale is an intriguing mix of drama and comedy. Sparked by an obsessive envy of a perceived relationship between his Queen and his oldest friend, Leontes, King of Sicilia, sets in motion a train of events which affect two kingdoms and two generations; there is jealousy and joy, revenge and romance, loss and discovery, remorse and revelry, and an amazing revelation. Tremendous entertainment for a Summer evening! Please remember to bring with you your own seating, rugs, and warm, rainproof clothing.
