Developing Essential Skills Controlled Tasks Workshops This event is intended for teachers, assessors and/or internal quality assurers from centres who have an interest in, or would like to begin, developing their own Essential Skills controlled tasks. The event will support centres to navigate the Essential Skills controlled task guidance document, that will be published in January 2019.  The workshop will cover: - the process for developing controlled tasks; - the approval process for controlled tasks; and - the templates that you can use to write your controlled tasks If you’d like to submit a question before the event (which, if you prefer, can be treated anonymously), email [email protected] Equally, please let us know if you require any alternative dietary or access requirements Please note that tickets for this event are restricted to a maximum of 4 delegates from each centre. Focus groups to explore the impact of the third sector infrastructure. Third Sector Support Wales is a network of support organisations for the third sector in Wales. This includes County Voluntary Councils and WCVA, the national body. Our shared goal is to enable the third sector and volunteers across Wales to contribute fully to individual and community well-being, now and for the future. Venue opens at 1.15 pm. Common Sense SEO for SMEs: Getting Started


The University of South Wales (USW) and the Federation of Small Business (FSB) invite you to join our free SEO masterclass - Common Sense SEO for SMEs: Getting Started. This event is open to both members and non-members of the FSB.  About the Session:  Held in the USW Exchange business hub (Treforest) this 4 hour, hands-on workshop will cover:  How search engines work  Basic keyword research and free tools  On-page SEO: page titles, headings, text and other elements Site planning and architecture  Outreach and basic link building  A short introduction to technical SEO, XML sitemaps and robots.txt Using Google Search Console  A quick introduction to Google Analytics (time permitting).  As this is a practical, hands-on session, attendees will need to bring a laptop or mobile device in order to get the most from the session.  About the Facilitator:  Jess Spate, PhD | Analytics & Conversion Expert  With a PhD in data mining and mathematics, Jess programs in Perl and loves to poke around in data. Citrus Pips - January Try Trapeze Classes


Try Trapeze Classes  are a weekly classes for adults interested in trapeze and aerial skills. No previous experience is necassery, course starts from the basic level and adjusts  according to your progress. You will also have an opportunity to  try out aerial silks, rope and aerial hoop.  Classes are held at Muni, Pontypridd on Wednesday evenings.There are two time slots available starting at 18:30- 20:00 and 19:30-21:00. Early bird tickets will be available until 25th December at a discounted price of £25, and after this date for £30.00.  When purchased, block tickets are valid for all classes during calendar month in question - in this case January 2019.

For students at schools throughout South Wales, Renishaw's education outreach workshops provide an exciting hands-on experience of real-world engineering.  For teachers, they offer an ideal opportunity to pro-actively engage classes in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects. Held at our state-of-the-art Fabrication Development Centre (FDC) in Miskin, our half-day and full-day workshops are completely FREE and can even be tailored to meet the needs of individual school curricula. Delivery The programme is delivered through eight workshops. An initial one-to-one with participant and line manager is conducted to establish programme objectives and a willingness to participate. A business based Making a Difference project is defined during the programme to provide both a meaningful work environment for the participant to apply the management tools and achieve a measurable pay-back. Participants conclude their development by providing formal feedback on their business based project. A mid point and end of programme one-to-one session with line manager assesses achievement of objectives. Next ProgrammesThe dates for the programme are shown below.
