IWA North Staffordshire & South Cheshire Branch and Trent & Mersey Canal Society.  Monthly work party on the Cheshire Locks, Trent & Mersey Canal. 10am to 3pm. Meet at Church Locks 47 & 48 adjacent to All Saints, Church Lawton, ST7 3DD.  Please wear stout shoes and old clothing that you don't mind getting some dirt or paint on and bring a waterproof in case of rain. CCPA National Conference - Are you ready for Charity Growth?


The CCPA national conference offers delegates a programme of presentations, workshops and networking opportunities around the theme of ‘Are you ready for Charity Growth?’ Designed to support learning and professional development for those working within the childhood cancer sector the conference will be exploring the challenges of growing a charity; with specific reference to the challenges faced by operating in the ever changing digital age.  In addition to two key note presentations, delegates can choose from a mix of practical and interactive sessions focussing on three main topics: Supporting the support workers, Charities in the digital age and Diversifying and Growing your fundraising. This valuable learning and networking event is open to both CCPA members and non-members who are working within charities that share the goal of improving the lives of children and young people with cancer, survivors and their families. It aims to give delegates opportunities to connect and share experience with others facing similar challenges. The conference venue, Yarnfield Park is a short drive (15 mins) from the M6 and has plenty of parking. On site overnight accommodation is also available for delegates making their own accommodation bookings. Comedy Night


Stafford Rangers brings to you a comedy night with a brilliant line up. comedians: Wes Zaharuk world-wide reputation for a tournado-like approach to comedy, surreal feats and an eccentriccollectionof eye-popping prop tricks. he is a one-man tour de force, known to combine routines with power tools, bananas and film noir. Wes has amazing reviews from Toronto Sun, Graeme Bright and Edinbourough Fringe. Scott Bennett After starting comedy in late 2009, Scott has rapidly established himself as one of the fastest rising stars on the UK circuit. With a warm and engaging delivery, he is a Yorkshire live wire with an undeniable no nonsense logic. This has lead to him supporting Rob Brydon on numerous tour dates in 2016 and 2017. His sharply written routines have been delighting audiences across the country. He was runner-up in English Comedian of the Year 2014.  Tony Vino Preston’s very own funnyman,Tony Vino has been touring the comedy scene since early 2005. Well aware of social and political issues he mixes friendly well thought out observational humour with audience interaction and quick-witted responses. Tony has enjoyed recognition as a comedian and comedy compere of renown. Last year, Tony released his debut DVD ‘In Vino Veritas’. His life and interests are wide ranging and so is the subject matter he weaves together on stage. He was also the official warm up comedian for BBC Songs of Praise (tough crowd) and you can also hear him regularly as a regular weekend comedy pundit on BBC Radio Manchester.
