Please check back soon for more details!  Friday 29 June - Just 3 Folk: Just 3Folk (J3F) are a 3 part harmony vocal trio consisting of Liz Crawford, Maggie Douglas, and Anne Hamilton who share a common love of folk music. J3F have developed a varied repertoire of traditional and contemporary British and American folk music, arranging the songs in three part harmony, and performing them accompanied by guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica and occasionally ukulele.   Friday 13 July: Polsitar: Scotland's only professional classical sitarist. Paul Wright trained with Rangong Birindra of Nepal. He was also trained extensively by Ustaad Shahid Parvez and Ustaad Choti Rehimat Khan in India.  Friday 27 July - Shamblestone: Joanna Stark and Elizabeth Flett form Shamblestone, an entertaining multi-instrumentalist folk duo, rooted in the Scottish tradition. Their innovative blend of different musical styles and sparky live performances makes Shamblestone an unusual and exciting duo. Friday 10 August: Barbara Dymock and Christopher Marra:  Barbara was brought up in Fife, learning Scottish and Irish songs from her grandparents, and she has been pleasing crowds with her traditional songs ever since. Chris has been a musician since his teens, working in many distinct fields from bighair rock to sophisticated pop with Danny Wilson and recording and performing with his brother Michael Marra. 2nd Conference “Teaching Economics in the 21st Century: Post-Crash Economics”


This one-day Conference: - engages in the debate about the need for novel and alternative approaches to economics teaching and research; - deals also with educational and pedagogical issues; - includes a panel of students who participate in and contribute actively to the conference by providing their reflections and experiences about being taught economics at the university; - hosts presentations from authors of the book “Post-Crash Economics: Pluralist and Heterodox Ideas in Teaching and Research” edited by Carlo Morelli and Omar Feraboli; - aims at bringing together academics and students who are committed to maintaining and developing an economics discipline which has relevance and realism to contemporary economic questions; - is expected to provide an opportunity for both academics and students to share knowledge and experiences about teaching and learning economics at university. The Conference Programme will be provided in due course.

Introduction to Funding


Securing adequate funding is essential for the success of any production or company, but the funding landscape and application process can seem complex and daunting to the uninitiated. This short workshop aims to provide an introduction to the topic and an overview of how to create a successful application. This session will be run by Sarah Gray who has worked as a producer in a variety of capacities since 2005. In this workshop she will focus on writing a funding application, discussing how to articulate your project and ideas and what the funder is looking for. She will also cover in kind sponsorship and other sources of funding and there will be plenty of time for questions. This is an excellent opportunity for any emerging producers, individual artists or aspiring fundraisers/general managers to gain an insight into funding applications and the basics of fundraising. Learning outcomes This short workshop will provide an introduction to the topic and an overview of how to create a successful Creative Scotland application. Who should attend Anyone who is at the early stages of their producing career - administrators, general managers, etc - who is looking to get into fundraising and anyone who is feeling frustrated by their success rate with Creative Scotland funding applications. Trainer information This session is run by Sarah Gray who has worked as a producer in a variety of capacities since 2005, working with NTS, Wee Stories, Macrobert Arts Centre as well as a number of individual artists and companies, including The Polar Bears and Ailie Cohen Puppet Maker.
