Magic of Minsmere weekend wildlife walk at RSPB Minsmere


Never been to Minsmere before? Then this is the walk for you! With over 5700 recorded species and a wealth of history and archaeological highlights at Minsmere, there is so much to discover. Our friendly and knowledgeable RSPB guides will take you through the sights and sounds to be enjoyed at this time of year. Walks generally last  about 4 hours and are tailored according to the season and visitor knowledge. No previous experience needed.  Don’t forget to bring your binoculars or ask at reception about loaning a pair for the day.   FAQs   Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? We do not recommend our walks for children under 8 years old   What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? Minsmere is signposted from the A12 and the village of Westleton (two miles away). On arrival there is a large, free car park. There are toilets in the visitor centre   What can I bring into the event? We recommend suitable outdoor clothing. bring your own binoculars and camera if you have them, or hire binoculars from the shop. You may wish to carry a drink and/or snack. The reserve cafe will open before and after the walk. No dogs, except registered assistance dogs please   How can I contact the organiser with any questions? Red deer rut 4x4 safaris at RSPB Minsmere


The annual red deer rut is one of the most spectacular natural encounters you can experience in the UK. Join our knowledgable guides for a drive onto the rutting fields in our 4x4 vehicles for the chance to get closer to the action.  These safaris provide excellent photographic opportunities, so don't forget to bring your camera. The ticket price is for up to four people per vehicle. Can I get a reduction or offer the spare seats to someone else? The ticket price is to hire the vehicle and driver, and is for up to four people. We do not sell space seats to anyone else, but you are welcome to bring friends with you, up to a maximum of four. There is no reduced price for parties of less than four people.

Somerleyton Hall Gardens only


Please be aware that you are unable to buy tickets online on the same day as you wish to visit. However, tickets can be purchased from the ticket office on arrival. Somerleyton Hall is one of the finest Victorian Stately homes in the country, let our expert team of guides bring this fabulous Hall to life with their history tours that run throughout the day. Somerleyton Hall has 12 acres of magnificent gardens. The charming sunken white garden to the north of the Hall is set within the footprint of the former winter garden. Somerleyton Hall to one of the finest yew hedge mazes in Britain, planted back in 1846. The route out is around 800 yards from the centre, but most visitors find it takes rather longer to solve the maze’s mysteries! Opening times Our season runs from 29th March to 28th October and the gardens are open: 10am – 5pm on Tuesday10am – 5pm on Wednesday 10am – 5pm on Thursday10am – 5pm on Friday10am – 5pm on Sundays & Bank Holidays Wednesday (The Hall is closed). On August bank holiday Monday (27th August) we have jazz duo Coppertone performing 'Jazz on the lawn' from 2pm to 4pm. Back by popular demand they will be performing swing songs from the 1920s and 30s'.   It should be a great afternoon for all the family and entry is all part of our standard 'Garden only' entrance ticket price. If you wish to also enjoy a tour of the hall please make sure you purchase a 'Hall & Gardens' ticket. During Easter holidays we open Tuesday to Sunday (Hall & Gardens). Entrance to the Hall is by tour only. Tours last 45 minutes and run regularly from 11.30am until 3pm. Throughout the year we hold special events including plays, tours and live music events. See our website for current opening dates and times, as these may vary due to private events. Disabled Access All areas of the Hall and Garden have been rated as partially wheelchair accessible, with disabled toilets located near the entrance and in the Winter Garden (together with ladies and gents at both locations). We have wheelchairs available for public use, but reservation is advisable. Please be aware that the site contains natural features such as uneven surfaces, rabbit holes, branches, twigs etc. and open water. We would encourage you to wear suitable footwear at all times and please keep children supervised at all times especially near water. Additionally, please note lighting is not provided in all areas and we would advise bringing a torch when visiting in the evening.
