Everything an ECR needs to know about getting research funding (Chelmsford)


OPEN TO ACADEMIC & RESEARCH STAFF AT ARU. THIS EVENT IS NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. The workshop will provide an overview of some of the major sources of funding and applying for research and innovation funding from UK and EU sources available to ECRs from HASS and STEMM disciplines. It will also deal with funding to support ECRs career development and building their research profile. We will hope to have for the workshop an Anglia Ruskin University ECR academic who has been successful in securing external funding and developing an academic career. They will share their experience in their respective discipline area on how they approached securing external funding. The session will also give you an idea of the support available within Anglia Ruskin University for applying for external funding and our internal processes for approving external bids. You will also get an overview of how to source funding opportunities via funding databases. By the end of the workshop participants will have: ARU support for seeking external funding and sourcing funding opportunities Information on major sources of UK and EU funding The workshop will also provide an opportunity to hear from an ECR academic on their experience of applying for funding Provide an overview of internal support and University approvals for submitting proposals Brief oversight on developing external funding bids Questions and answer   Facilitator: Dr Hitesh H Patel and ERC TBC from either HASS or STEMM or both Hitesh has over 30 years of experience involving research and innovation development and research and innovation administration gained within the academic, commercial, public research funding and government department environments.
