Introduction to Personal Websites with Wordpress for UVic Libraries' DSC - November 15, 2018


Are you a UVic student or Staff member and want to learn more about creating your own website? If so, then this hands-on workshop will give you an introduction to website development using Wordpress. Once you’ve completed this session you will be able to do the following: Know What WordPress is, why it is free, and what other web hosting options there are (including knowing the difference between WordPress.com vs WordPress.org: Plugins, 3rd party themes, modify template code). Know the importance of planning for a website. Be able to create a navigation structure for your website. Be able to create a wireframe or mockup of your website. Create a basic personal website on Wordpress.com. Create blog posts. Embed images and videos. Add pages static pages, including a static home page. Change the website template. Customize menus & navigation. Configure & customize a Wordpress.com theme. NRP Recertification Victoria - VIHA Perinatal Staff


**Please note this is a 7th Edition RE-CERTIFICATION Course for Island Health Perinatal staff only. You must complete the pre-course reading and exam before attending. See the NRP intranet page for more information** The NRP Provider Course is an educational program that introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. It is designed for health care professionals involved in any aspect of neonatal resuscitation, including physicians, nurses, midwives, respiratory care practitioners, and other health care professionals who provide direct care during neonatal resuscitation. NRP is administered by the Canadian Paediatric Society Completion of an NRP course does not mean that an individual is competent to perform neonatal resuscitation. NRP courses do not certify the learner to perform any resuscitation technique, and course participants should not exceed their scope of practice defined by their professional governing body and institutional job description. The course is 6 hours and all lessons must be completed. CANCELLATION POLICY: No charge if student withdraws at least 7 days before course. All no-shows and cancellations with less than 7 days notice will incur a $50 fee. This fee must be paid before enrolling in a future course.
