In our beginner–advanced sewing classes, you can learn to make skirts, pants, tops, shirts, dresses, jackets and coats in no time at all, and learning the correct techniques makes it simpler than ever. Once you have discovered our secrets, you will never look back. Even students who have sewn for many years cannot believe how simple it is when they have been taught these "tricks of the trade". In each module you will learn to make clothes that actually fit you. You will learn things that not everyone is willing to share. And you will learn from an experienced tutor who is a qualified Designer, Dressmaker, Manufacturer, Milliner and Teacher. With more than 30 years teaching experience. Synthesizers: Sound of the Future


20 April - 9 September Open every Sunday - Firday Synthesizers reconstructs Melbourne music maestro Keith Humble’s transformation of the museum into a thriving experimental electronic music studio from 1969-1974, and more broadly, the evolution of the commercially produced synthesizer by EMS (Electronic Music Studios Ltd.). The groundbreaking exhibition is a collaboration between the Grainger and Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio (MESS) – one of the most historically significant collections of electronic instruments in the world - the brainchild of Byron Scullin and Robin Fox.

The Collingwood Coffee College is part of Proud Mary Coffee Roasters and is excited to offer Filter Coffee Path 1 workshop for lovers of coffee at home, or at work.  Exploring V60, Plunger, Clever Coffee Dripper & AeroPress, you can learn the important factors to consider getting specialty results when brewing filter coffee at home, at work or even on a plane!  During this class you will learn: Introducing flavour into filtered coffee. The 3 important factors to manage when brewing filter coffee.  How to prepare filter & immersion methods using a standard recipe and how to alter this for what you enjoy. DELIVERY Filter Coffee Path 1 is a 2-hour workshop delivered by a member of our Training Team who will provide a hands-on approach where you can try, test and clarify brewing coffee for home and  provide you with resources to take home and keep practicing! Only 4 spots per class to ensure maximum time and attention can be given to all attendees. REGISTRATION & PAYMENT We have no minimum numbers for any of our workshops, once you have registered be assured that the workshop will go ahead. What creates me as a person is what I teach to you, my home, my food, my hospitality and the tastes of my homeland.  During this class, I will show you what is a focus in my home from day to day. Come and have an experience of food fantasy, exploration of Italian regions through scent and taste, sound and feel. Upon entry, you will be immersed in an Italian home enthralled by classical music and tastes of Italy’s South. Amongst known and new friends, you will be taken through three different meal recipes that have been passed on to me and that I use in my home. We do it the Italian way - sit back, relax, taste and entice yourself all whilst learning how to cook in the home.  Not only do you leave feeling entertained and fed, but also with a luxurious take away pack with elements from the class and personalized recipes.  Let me take you on an Italian feast. After all, I am a housewife!

Barista Path 1 Workshop


Welcome to the 'Barista Path 1', hosted at Collingwood Coffee College, Proud Mary Coffee Roasters education hub.    The following course is suitable for people currently employed, or interested in becoming employed in specialty coffee.   'Barista Path 1' will develop your knowledge of and skills in of espresso extraction and coffee-making so you can consistently produce and replicate a quality product.  'Barista Path 1 is a four-hour non-accredited course delivered by our internal Trainers who will provide a learning environment where you can try, test and clarify brewing espresso coffee, milk texturing and putting it all into action! Each workshop will provide you with resources to take home and enable you to keep practicing! Only 4 spots per class to ensure maximum time and attention can be given to all attendees. By the end of this class you will be able to: Identify ingredients and quantities that underpin a 'good' recipe for house-blend espresso. Season equipment and manage the 3-variables to dial in your recipe to achieve a balanced tasting espresso. Texture milk with 2-steps and achieve siny, micro-foam ideal for integrating with espresso. Integrate milk with crema to pour and present a delicous looking milk coffee. Introduce and demonstrate a regular cleaning and maintenance regime to promote a professional environment, quality coffee and preventative maintenance. Summer School Holidays at Museums Victoria


It’s all happening at Museums Victoria these summer school holidays! As well as special school holiday events at each venue, the museums’ feature exhibitions are running related talks, tours and activities during the summer break. There’s a range of offers for visitors to Melbourne Museum. Located in the entrance to Bunjilaka for half of the holidays, there will be story-telling and Bunjil's Gliders. In the fourth week of the holidays, there will be a special artist residency with David Booth from Ghost Patrol. Join Scienceworks these holidays for Superhero Science activities and a special Amphitheatre show Boom! Bap! How? or enter the realms of children's games and teenage fandom from the British 'youthquake' era and beyond at Immigration Museum. In the Immigration Museum courtyard you will be able to pick up a suitcase and head outside to play old favourites such as hop scotch and quoits or find our pop-up teen bedroom and belt out a karaoke in homage to the British pop idols from yesteryear and today.

Filter Coffee Path 2


Barista’s and lovers of specialty coffee are becoming more and more interested in the science behind the brewing of coffee and how this science can play a role in getting the best result in the cup. Filter Coffee Path 2 workshop is designed to further explore  the core skills and equipment required to produce great filtered coffee. During this structured workshop we will test filter brewing recipes and methods with a variety of experiments exploring how to get the best flavour into your daily filter. Together we will explore: The 3 important factors to manage for brewing filtered coffee. Introducing flavour into filtered coffee. Exploring the relationship between strength and extraction and the impact and value of brew ratios.  Using the refractometer to analytically measure strength (TDS %) and extraction yield (PE%) to assess if we are working with ideal numbers and taste profile, in reference to a published brewing chart. DELIVERY Delivered by a member of our Training team who have collectively had success in state and national coffee competitions.  We max our Filter Path 2 workshop to 4 people to encourage trying, testing, exploring and tasting!
