Safe Urban Driving Course

This course is approved by TFL, and is delivered in a uniformed manner by all training providers. The power points, student packs and practical section are identical, delivered to the same standard to meet the Silver FORS criteria and WRRR. We can deliver this course from our dedicated site in Northampton. We also offer on-site training please contact the team for details and pricing. Safe Urban Driving is aimed at giving drivers education on vulnerable road user awareness. The main focus is to reduce fatalities surrounding cyclists but this course gives a broad over view of other vulnerable road users who are at risk from large goods vehicles. The course is split in two with a theory session and a practical hands on cycling element. Not only do you learn about the everyday hazards a driver will experience but you will also get a real life perspective of being a cyclist. Theory lesson (3.5 Hours)  This section of the course focuses on the risks and hazards of driving a large goods vehicle in UK cities. Gets you to think about how your actions impact on road safety. Helps you to share the road safely with pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclist and other vulnerable road users. Describes city growth, the increase in walking and cycling and changes to urban designs. We look at other types of vulnerable road users, places where there is a high concentration of them and why they are unaware of you. Signalling, positioning, eye contact and defensive driving. Safety equipment, technology and what makes a professional driver. Practical lesson (3.5 Hours)  This section of the day follows the National Standard for Bike Ability Cycle Training. The older version was the Cycling Proficiency which has now been revamped and brought up to date. The lesson is split in to three sections bronze, silver and gold. Any student who is unable to ride due to medical issues will be permitted to walk the route to the learning points, but must participate in discussions and observations. The bronze and silver levels are held in a controlled environment to ensure student meet a set criteria before the gold level. The gold level must be held on a road used by large goods vehicles with a speed limit of at least 30mph. If a student is not deemed to be safe on the gold section they will also have to walk the course to the learning point locations. This training also counts towards driver CPC hours which are only uploaded after completion of the full course. If students want to have CPC hours uploaded to count towards their 35 hours then a cash payment will need to be paid at registration. The upload fee is (£8.75 ex vat) plus £1 administration fee which includes vat and one certificate. The total cash payment for a CPC upload is £9.95 Please note that food, refreshments and travel costs are not included in the price. Students must ensure they are dressed accordingly I.E. Facebook is not just a social network,  It has grown into a major marketing tool and there is little doubt that you will find a huge number of your customers and clients spending time there. However, despite your best efforts, a fun and engaging page is not enough anymore.  As each month passes your customers are seeing less and less of your posts. Why?  Money. Facebook is a business like any other and they want you to spend your advertising budgets with them. Facebook advertising is incredibly powerful.  It allows you to target your customers exactly, and talk directly to them, in their timeline. This workshop will be an interactive look at how you can use Facebook advertising for your business. Bring your laptop or tablet to get on the spot practical tips (don’t worry – you won’t need to spend any money).  Watch this video for a quick taster  You’ll leave the session knowing How to navigate the complex minefield of Facebook Advert Manager How to work out exactly what your objectives are and how to achieve them How pinpoint your audience exactly so no money is wasted Rules and Tools to help you design the most effective ads How to get the most for your money How to analyse your results so your next ads are even better Places are limited so book up now to guarantee your spot.  There’ll be plenty of time before and after for networking and making some valuable friends and allies. Business owners Social Media Managers Anyone who wants to get the most out of their marketing budget What others have said … Louise is smart, funny, techy and completely ahead of the social marketing game. This is the second Armadillo Social School I’ve attended. She breaks down the jargon; she tells you exactly what you ‘need’ to know. I did the course yesterday and within 24 hrs I’ve revamped my website, started blogging and upped my social networking game ten-fold. My likes are going up and up and for the first time all my social network is branded perfectly and they’re all talking to one another (yay). I will always use Louise to update my skill set – no question. Thank you again so much. Emma @Oojamaflick films.  I’ve attended several courses now and find them very informative, Louise talks in everyday language and explains clearly how to do things. All done in a friendly way, looking forward to the next!
