West Sussex Solar Power for Schools 2018 - Chichester

This is a final briefing for business managers, head teachers and governors from West Sussex schools to find out about the WSCC Solar Power for Schools programme, which is being delivered through Your Energy Sussex. With the Government's feed-in-tariff scheme coming to an end in March 2019, this is a last call for schools wanting to join the WSCC programme to install solar panels and generate green electricity.  More than 20 schools have installed systems so far under the programme and a further 42 have signed up and are currently undergoing surveys.   The benefits to the school include: Zero capital cost – the cost of surveys, installation and ongoing maintenance is met by the County Council. Reduced energy spend – we will charge a reduced rate for the electricity you use that is produced by the solar panels. Protection from future electricity price fluctuation – the cost of electricity generated on site will increase by RPI rather than follow energy costs which are predicted quicker than general inflation. Pay for what you use – the systems are fitted with automatic meter reading technology that provides half hourly data for accurate billing. Sign up for your free event ticket or email [email protected] if you have any questions about the programme.

EqualiTea: Share. Debate. Celebrate. With Gillian Keegan MP.

This event is for WSCC staff: You're invited to join WSCC members of staff to share, debate and celebrate our democratic rights. Organised by our staff group Women in the Workplace, all staff are welcome for discussion and conversation over a cup of tea and a biscuit (which we'll provide!). We're delighted that we will be joined by Gillian Keegan MP for Chichester, who will be discussing her role in democracy and the Vote 100 programme. What does it mean to you to have the same democratic rights as everyone else? Join together with people from all over the country to celebrate 90 years since the Representation of the People Act 1928, which gave all men and women over 21 the equal right to vote.
