All Weather Tots - 2018

Outdoor play session at Highway Farm which is ten minutes from Redruth, Cornwall. Fridays, term time only 10am to 11.30. Suitable for children crawling through to starting school. This is a session where you and your child have lots of outside space to explore in all weathers. There's a creative 'starter' each week but no set 'craft' that you have to replicate. This is about free play and creativity, take the lead from your child :) The kettle will be on when you arrive, feel free to bring children's drinks and snacks.I'm Niki, my background is early years, children with special needs and Forest School, I also have four grown up children of my own. I have a DBS check, I am a Playworker, have a degree in Early Years Education and am an Advanced Forest School Leader and Trainer. I'm passionate about children playing out! Here are some photos of what we've been up to before  THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW Please bring extra layers and waterproofs, the farm has a micro-climate all of its own We run whatever the weather - clue in the title! The only time this may change is if there is a Met Office Weather Warning. In which case please check your email, or Facebook messages before you leave. I will make a decision at least an hour before the session. No need to print your tickets out I have a list We have a fire if it is cold and some shelter, but no indoor space. I will make you a cuppa and we have almond milk not dairy. We have a compost loo Please wait in the car park and I will come down and pick you up at ten Mud is involved - please wear old clothes! Extra adults - sometimes it's nice to bring your partner, visiting granny, help - because may be you're really pregnant and can't chase afer that child - that's great and nine times out of ten is not a problem. Please let me know beforehand so that I bring enough cups. My priority is the children's play environment so if I had a week where everyone wanted to bring Great Auntie Ethel I may say no, this is because a hoard of adults standing in a group around small children playing is not a great play environment, much as I love Great Auntie Ethel ;) So please just check first. (We need a minimum of four families to run a session. We are called All Weather Tots but we do not run when safety is an issue such as gale force winds or heavy snow. Please check your email before leaving in case we cancel - this has only happened twice) Hope to meet you soon :) Quotes from parents 'Perfect, I've arranged my job around it' 'I like being outside, the great environment to explore, the balance of freedom and facilitation. And the beverage!' I am independant of Highway Farm but should you wish to find out more about nursery places, please email the team here - [email protected]

Safeguarding Adults Level 3: Hub Club, Pool.

We believe in making learning and development accessible, so that the learning is not only informed by practice, but embedded into practice.  All our courses are designed to encourage delegates to reflect on and develop their knowledge and skills, through discussion, the use of case studies, current research, and best practice examples. This programme aims to support the development of competent and confident practice relating to Adult Safeguarding for practitioners and managers of provider services. By the end of the session participants will have had the opportunity to consider: The legislative requirements for Safeguarding Adults as set out in the Care Act 2014. The 6 key strands of safeguarding as they relate to individual practice and organisational arrangements. The assessment of risk and harm Best practice in ensuring that the person’s rights and wishes are at the centre of any safeguarding interventions. The principles of information sharing, confidentiality and consent relating to adults at risk of harm or abuse. Actions that may be taken following a safeguarding referral, including a Section 42 enquiry. Their roles and responsibilities and the roles and the responsibilities of others under Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Safeguarding Adults arrangements. This programme supports Level 3 knowledge as outlined in the Safeguarding Adults: Roles and competences for health care staff – Intercollegiate document NHS England 2016 (4)  Audience: This session is appropriate for practitioners and managers of services whose responsibilities include taking an active role in safeguarding enquiries. It is also suitable for those who have the lead for Adult Safeguarding within their organisation, or whose responsibilities include producing Adult Safeguarding policies, whether in a statutory, private, or voluntary setting. Please note however, that this is not a course that covers specialist roles within a Section 42 safeguarding enquiry. Pre-requisites: It is expected that participants have a good understanding of the following before attending the workshop: Who the safeguarding adult duties apply to (Care Act 2014). The core principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and their application in practice. How the Human Rights Act 1998 underpins safeguarding work.  If delegates are not confident they have the necessary pre-requisites please feel free to contact FreeBird Associates for information, advice and guidance: [email protected] Payment: Preferred payment is direct through Eventbrite. Whilst we are happy to accept payment via invoice, if you expect a third party to pay the invoice on your behalf (e.g. your organisation), you must have followed your organisational process for accessing training and have their agreement (including where appropriate a Purchase order) before continuing. If you have not secured such an agreement before attending the session, you will remain personally responsible for payment of the invoice. Cancelation policy: whilst the cancelation policy states 30 days this is due to the configuration of Eventbrite, we will actually refund  any cancelation 15 days or more  prior to the event minus any  booking fee (£3.18) .   Any cancelation ( including a request to change dates)  14 days or less before the course will not receive a refund unless it is the organiser who need to cancel. Please note that these courses need to have a minimum of 10 people to be viable to proceed.
