Teacher Discussions on Non-Examination Assessment (Aberystwyth) - ART / Trafodaethau Athrawon am Asesiadau nas cynhelir drwy Arholiad (Aberystwyth) - CELF

ART We are inviting teachers to participate in a series of focus group discussions about their experiences of non-examination assessment (NEA) in GCSEs. NEA refers to any type of assessment that is not an exam taken by all candidates at the same time. NEA therefore covers a range of assessment activities including coursework, oral assessment, fieldwork, portfolio work and practical assessment. This focus group will discuss: 1) the principles and purposes of NEA2) assessment methods3) levels of teacher involvement at task setting, task taking and task marking4) experiences of delivering NEA5) experiences of assessing NEA  We want to hear from teachers with experience of NEA in one (or more) of 10 GCSE subjects. There will be light refreshments and an opportunity to network with other teachers at every session. We will use the findings from this research to shape the future design and development of qualifications, for example when looking at how qualifications can support the new curriculum for Wales. If you would like to contribute your views to this focus group, please book yourself a place by registering. Spaces are limited so please only sign up once you have confirmed you will be able to attend. We also request that only one teacher per subject attends from each school. If you sign up and are then unable to attend, please cancel your booking through EventBrite to give someone else a chance to take part. If you would like to contribute to this research but are unable to attend one of these focus groups, please contact [email protected] Equally, please let us know if you require any alternative dietary or access requirements. For information on how we use and store personal data, and your rights in this regard, the privacy notice can be read here. CELF Rydym yn gwahodd athrawon i gymryd rhan mewn cyfres o drafodaethau grwpiau ffocws ynglŷn â'u profiadau o asesiadau diarholiad (NEA) ar gyfer cymwysterau TGAU. Mae NEA yn cyfeirio at unrhyw fath o asesiad nad yw'n cynnwys arholiad y mae pob ymgeisydd yn ei sefyll ar yr un pryd. Felly mae NEA yn cwmpasu amrywiaeth o weithgareddau asesu gan gynnwys gwaith cwrs, asesiadau llafar, gwaith maes, gwaith portffolio ac asesiadau ymarferol. Bydd y grŵp ffocws hwn yn trafod y canlynol: 1) egwyddorion a dibenion NEA2) dulliau asesu3) lefel cyfranogiad athrawon wrth osod, cyflawni a marcio tasgau4) profiadau a gynnal NEA5) profiadau o asesu NEA Hoffem glywed gan athrawon sydd â phrofiad o NEA mewn un (neu fwy) o 10 pwnc TGAU. Bydd lluniaeth ysgafn a chyfle i rwydweithio ag athrawon eraill ym mhob sesiwn. Byddwn yn defnyddio'r canfyddiadau o'r ymchwil hon i lywio'r ffordd y caiff cymwysterau eu dylunio a'u datblygu yn y dyfodol, er enghraifft wrth ystyried sut y gall cymwysterau gefnogi'r cwricwlwm newydd yng Nghymru. Nick Capaldi a swyddogion y Cyngor fydd yn croesawu pawb i’r cyfarfodydd a’u rhedeg.   Bydd canlyniad y broses yn llywio sut byddwn ni’n buddsoddi arian y Loteri dros y 5 mlynedd nesaf. Mae’n bwysig inni glywed eich barn, felly dewch yn llu! Dim ond dau docyn y sefydliad fydd ar gael oherwydd cyfyngiadau ar y niferoedd ymhob lle. As part of our Lottery Strategy Consultation we are holding a series of meetings throughout Wales where you can join the discussion and share your thoughts with us.  Our consultation document can be found here https://tellus.arts.wales/wh/s.asp?k=154150380370 and we will be discussing the topics outlined.  The afternoon will be hosted Nick Capaldi along with other Arts Council Officers.    The outcome of the Consultation will inform how we invest Lottery funds over the next 5 years so it’s important for us to hear as many views and voices as possible. Please come along and join the conversation. Due to restrictions on numbers please be advised that the maximum number of tickets you should book for each organisation is two.
