Leek - PopUp Business School | Making Money From Your Passion

Make Money From Your Passion What if you could start your own business, but you didn't know how? What if you could learn more about marketing, websites or social media? What if you could make money doing what you love? If that sounds like you, then the PopUp Business School wants to meet you. From Monday 4th June, the PopUp team will be running a free business course to help new and established businesses get going and to kick-start your business the right way. The intensive multi-day course is being run in Leek. You don't have to come everyday but the more you come, the more you will get out of it. All sessions are completely free, but places are limited, so booking is essential. We will help you to get your ideas off the ground thanks to our partners, Your Housing Group. Come along, spend with us and learn:  Start a Business with No Money  Build a Website for Free  Get to the Top of Google  How to Find Customers on Social Media  Get the Confidence to Start  Tax, Company Setup and The Legal Stuff  How to Make Money Doing What You Love    Find the full Schedule that covers every aspect of starting, owning and running a business at www.popupbusinessschool.co.uk/leek. As well as the Workshops, PopUp also provides one to one support wherever possible and continuing online support to all participants after the event itself.  This is a one-off opportunity to get expert help to bring your business ideas to life. History Frustrated by the traditional approach to starting up, co-founders Alan Donegan and Simon Paine decided to challenge the system when they set up seven years ago. Forget suits, ties and briefcases. PopUp Business School is all about offering big opportunities to every member of society, from lone parents to the unemployed, people with disabilities, ex-offenders and other disadvantaged members of the community.   PopUp Business School is the polar opposite of tired approaches to enterprise support. Rather than preach the importance of business plans, company structures and loan funding, Donegan and Paine turn this model on its head to achieve far greater results.      We cannot wait to meet you! The PopUp Team   FAQs Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? A printed ticket is not required on the door of the event. We will sign you in upon arrival. What should I bring into the event? Bring pen, paper, lunch and an open mind! How can I contact the organiser with any questions? You can email your questions to [email protected] or tweet us @PopUpBusiness!   Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? Feel free to donate your place on the course to someone else if you can't attend or bring more people with you! The more people at these events, the better. The more people there are, the more opportunity will arise for everyone!

New Business Network

New Business Network Meeting meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month at 9.45am  The format will be  • Open networking  • Welcome and introductions - giving people the opportunity to give a quick insight into their business (around 2 minutes) • An opportunity to exchange business cards • A networking break - refreshments • The Business Focus of the meeting - this will give a business around half hour in the meeting to focus on their business,  the idea that being everyone tries to help that business on the day after listening to a presentation, and having a Q&A to build a list of potential introductions, and possible ideas for the growth of that business. Tips, feedback and business exchanged - business tips or ideas, an opportunity to thank anyone for business, or any contacts that have proved valuable. People in the room that they would like to meet with. I believe there is a gap if people are starting a business, or coming to a new area, or just reached a crunch point, when a new type of network group might be able to help. We are noramlly meet at the College as South Cheshire College have expressed an interest in growing their links with the business community. The aim of the group is to help people understand the benefits of networking, if new, and to help build their list of contacts, as well as for everyone to grow their business.

APG Workshop | Brand Purpose that Sells

APG Workshop | Brand Purpose that Sells How to build purposeful brands that are commercially successful A 3-hour Workshop with Daianna Karaian This is a hands-on, 3-hour training course for people who want to know how to build brands that align commercial, customer and social value. A balance of theory, learning and practical exercises will give you the tools and skills you need to build commercially successful brands that make a real difference in customer’s lives, and in wider society. There’s lots of debate about brand purpose. Does it improve business metrics? Do customers actually care about it? What does it even really mean? An APG Noisy Thinking event posed the question “Does brand purpose have a point?”Brand purpose is proving a powerful way to generate loyalty and advocacy from customers and employees alike… when it’s done right—in a way that’s strategic, authentic and insight-driven. This course is all about how to do it right. We’ll start with a straightforward and actionable definition of brand purpose. Then, using simple frameworks, case studies from across a variety of sectors, and individual and group work, we’ll cover: How to establish a brand purpose that makes sense for your business How to weave purpose into your brand proposition in a way that’s compelling to customers, creates commercial value and makes a positive social impact How to credibly and authentically deliver on the brand purpose across all aspects of the business Participants will come away with the building blocks needed to take a pragmatic and effective approach to purpose with their brands or clients. Who is it for? Planners and strategists from communication, media, research and other marketing agencies, as well as client companies. Scientific Fact to Societal Action: how four organisations are engaging citizens to deliver climate change action

In partnership with Inspiring Sustainability. this is the launch event of the 'Tech for Planet' network. There are many different faces of climate change: from science and technology, to law, politics, the economy and our direct environment. Because of the complex realities it takes on, climate change needs to shift from a ‘scientific fact’ to a ‘societal action’. How do you trigger behaviour change at scale? The four invited speakers will discuss that question through the lengths of their own work: from sustainable fashion (REV), gamification (GreenGame), non-profit social action (Hubbub) and policy lobbying and research around climate change & politics (Green Alliance), every angle will be covered as an example of how to engage citizens at scale in promoting sustainable lifestyle and policies. We will talk about how to raise awareness on climate change realities, what solutions exist to help people change certain habits, how to design change and promote new social norms, and how to shape political will at the local and national level. Cora Hilts - Co-Founder, Rêve en Vert Cristian Parrino - C0-Founder & CEO, GreenGame Trewin Restorick - CEO, Hubbub Foundation Costanza Poggi - Policy Adviser, Green Alliance Scene Setting & Moderator: Adam Woodhall - Storyteller at Inspiring Sustainability The panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience and a networking cocktail.
