Housing Support Grant Engagement Event - North Wales

Housing Support Grant Engagement Event In October 2018 Welsh Government Ministers announced the decision to split the Early Intervention and Prevention Grant into two, separating the housing-related grants from non-housing elements for all local authorities in Wales.  As a result of this decision from April 2019 a single Housing Support Grant will be created encompassing Supporting People, Homelessness Prevention and Rent Smart Wales Enforcement.  These arrangements will remain in place for the remainder of this Assembly term. As a result, the Welsh Government will be developing a new grant scheme and would like to co-produce this work involving all stakeholders from the Supporting People and Homelessness sectors. This consultation event has been organised in partnership by the Welsh Government and Cymorth Cymru and is an opportunity for all stakeholders to feed in directly to the development process.  During this event you will be asked to share your views on the creation of the new grant mechanism, including your views on current issues and challenges, what the HSG governance need to look like and what we need to know to make sound decisions on distribution? Representation from all stakeholders from within the Supporting People and Homelessness sectors are welcome. The events are suited to those with a strategic understanding of the issues affecting the new grant. Should the events be oversubscribed we may need to introduce a limit per organisation and will seek to establish additional dates for events to ensure we are capturing the views of as many parties as possible. These events will not be the only mechanisms through which we seek views. Our engagement plan includes additional opportunities to engage in specific settings.  For example, to discuss the impact on Social Care through the Association of Directors of Social Services. In accordance with the requirements of the Welsh Language Standards, we would like to establish your language preference for this event.  I would be grateful if you would confirm your language preference for contributing at the event on your order form by the 29 January 2019. We will not consider responses received after this date.  Digwyddiad Ymgysylltu y Grant Cymorth Tai Ym mis Hydref 2018 cyhoeddodd Gweinidogion Llywodraeth Cymru y penderfyniad i rannu’r Grant Ymyrryd yn Fuan ac Atal yn ddau, gan wahanu’r grantiau yn ymwneud â thai oddi wrth yr elfennau eraill nad ydynt yn gysylltiedig â thai, a hynny i holl awdurdodau lleol Cymru.  O ganlyniad i’r penderfyniad hwn, o fis Ebrill 2019 bydd un Grant Cymorth Tai yn cael ei greu a hwnnw’n cwmpasu Cefnogi Pobl, Atal Digartrefedd a Gorfodaeth Cynllun Rhentu Doeth Cymru.  Bydd y trefniadau hyn yn parhau mewn grym am weddill y tymor hwn yn y Cynulliad.
