One Day Barista Workshop - Industry Skills Training

The Café Classroom works closely with our industry partners to provide experience-based learning in a fun and interactive manner. For this Barista Industry Skills Workshop, we have partnered with Del Mar on Ferry Road to provide you with an industry training program that gives you the Coffee Skills, Techniques & Knowledge in accordance with the national hospitality standard 17288 Prepare and Present espresso beverages for service.  During this one day workshop you will work closely with your tutor to master, demonstrate and provide evidence of your abilities to extract espresso, and explain potential problems with espresso and espresso equipment prepare espresso                  equipment and ingredients; prepare milk, and explain potential problems with preparing milk, for espresso beverages, and present espresso beverages for service. As you learn and practice your coffee skills you are able to measure your level of achievement and understanding by completing your self-paced workbook. This includes learning material and activities that help you provide evidence for assessment against the industry standard. Each activity is designed to reinforce your learning and increase your confidence. Industry standards require evidence of competency for the practical components of the standard to be gathered in the workplace or in a realistic environment where you have to produce product for customers who have industry expectations for quality and timeliness as a paying customer. To achieve this, at various times throughout your workshops, you will be preparing and presenting espresso beverages for customers in our training café enabling you to demonstrate your ability to meet the required performance standard. You have the option to complete your assessment on the day or book a one on one assessment time (included in the price) after you have had more practice.  Advantages of completing industry assessments are that you are able to gain recognised specialised skills that enable you to build on or establish a career in the hospitality industry while enjoying the satisfaction of a job well done! Completion of this workshop is a step towards being awarded our Practical Barista Skills Certificate and leads on to further hospitality qualifications. Workshop size is limited to 2 people per tutor so everyone gets up close and personal. Private session upgrades are available by arrangement.
