September Dinners in the Carriage House


Saturday dinners will kick off at 6:30pm in September. The dinner is 5 courses and listed below. Please feel free to bring your own beer and wine to enjoy throughout dinner, glassware will be provided. Aside from water, we do not serve any beverages at the Herb Lyceum. All seating is communal. The ticket includes gratuity and Eventbrite fees. Tax will be added at the time of purchase. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please email [email protected] - we will do our best to accommodate, but this is a fixed menu for the month of September. If you are coming in a group and will not be able to purchase tickets together, please send along their names so we can seat you together. We look forward to you joining us! Join Rev’d Indoor Cycling for a morning of outdoor rides at The Lawn on D! Our signature Rev’d Rides are set to amazing music and led by some of Boston’s best spin instructors. These 45-minute classes will provide you with an athletically challenging, body-changing experience, with a focus on the rhythm of the music and how it drives us to overcome the obstacles of resistance and position. If you havent heard, Rev'd is officially opening their first Boston studio at Copley Place later this fall! This is your chance to get a sneak peek at what their signature rides are all about before the grand opening. Be sure to grab a friend, book those bikes, and learn what it means to #getrevd! Violence Identification, Prevention, and Reporting (V.I.P.R.)

Cloutier, MPA Chief of Police, Fitchburg State University Vice President, MACLEA Topic: Violence Identification, Prevention and Reporting (VIPR) enhances awareness and teaches participants to identify supicious behaviors. It is based on a law enforcement course approved by the Deprtment of Homeland Security.  Additional time is set aside for a networking lunch.

MassEdCO 2019 Fall Forum - Cyberbullying: Current Research and Trends


Please join us for a dynamic and interactive forum on cyberbullying. 'Cyberbullying: Current Research and Trends':   Noon-2:00 PM Target audience: school counselors, TRIO and GEAR UP staff, along with state and community agency representatives. This session will focus on current research and trends in cyberbullying and digital behaviors that occur between peers among children and adolescents. New data and findings about issues such as sexting and self-cyberbullying will be explored, as well as research on how communication changes in digital environments. The interaction between online behaviors and relationships in schools will be addressed as well. Attendees will learn about resources they can use to educate youth about online risk and reduce problem behaviors. Our presenter is Elizabeth Englander, Ph.D., the founder and Executive Director of the Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center (MARC) at Bridgewater State University, a Center which delivers programs, resources and research to more than 400 schools every year nationwide. As a researcher and a professor of Psychology for 25 years, she is a nationally recognized expert in the area of bullying and cyberbullying, childhood causes of aggression and abuse, and children's use of technology Lunch is available 11:30 AM - Noon 'Legal Issues Surrounding Cyberbullying': 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Target audience: school district superintendents or their representatives, principals or their representatives, school resource officers and general counsels. This session will provide an overview of the Massachusetts school bullying law along with practical guidance for school administrators to ensure their anti-bullying prevention plans comply with the law. The session will also cover how to effectively investigate bullying and cyberbullying complaints when they arise. This session's presenter is Attorney Marc L. Terry, a Partner at Mirick O'Connell, Attorneys at Law,  and head of its Public Education practice. Marc concentrates his practice in the representation of public school districts, municipalities and other public entities as well as private employers in labor and employment. In his public school practice, Marc advises districts regarding school policy, student discipline, student rights, the budget process, professional licensing requirements, the non-renewal of professional staff and other education-related issues. The session will be moderated by Robert Pezzella, School Safety Director for the Worcester Public Schools. Attendees are welcome to join us for lunch at 11:30 AM, sit in on the first hour of Prof. Englander's presentation and then adjourn at 1 PM to the breakout session OR plan to arrive and register by 1 PM for this session. Guided Wildflower Walk


The traditional Wildflower walks lead you through the trails of Beaver Brook in search of each week's blooming wildflowers. Join the knowledgable BBA instructor Rivka Schwartz on these walks. This hike will search for the rare Fringed Gentian. The next hike will be on OCTOBER 30 for Witch Hazel.
