Smithsonian Museum Day


Free Admission Offered with Advanced Registration The Thomasville History Center and the Lapham—Patterson House will open their doors free of charge to all Museum Day ticketholders on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 10am until 4pm as part of Smithsonian magazine’s 15th annual Museum Day. Museum Day is a national celebration of boundless curiosity in which participating museums emulate the free admission policy at the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington DC-based museums. Museum Day represents a nationwide commitment to access, equity and inclusion. Over 250,000 people downloaded tickets for last year’s event, and Museum Day 2019 is expected to attract more museum-goers than ever before. Museum Day tickets will be available for download at Smithsonian.com/museumday beginning August 15. Visitors who present a Museum Day ticket will gain free entrance for two at a participating venue of their choice on September 21, 2019. One ticket is permitted per email address and tickets may only be used at one location. Additional guests not included in the Museum Day ticketing will be charged regular admission rates. A list of participating museums, which will be continually updated as more museums continue to register, can be found at Smithsonian.com/museumday/search. For more information about Museum Day Live, please visit Smithsonian.com/museumday. The Thomasville History Center is located at 725 N. Dawson Street and features exhibits in the historic Flowers-Roberts House and has several restored historic structures open for self-guided exploration including the 1870 Smith Homestead and the 1896 Ewart Bowling Alley. The hourly guided Lapham-Patterson House tour includes the entirety of the 1885 Resort-Era cottage and the stories of the home’s many residents. Guests at the Lapham-Patterson House are encouraged to come at the top of the hour.

Covey Film Festival Gala & Silent Auction

FEMA Region IV TEPW


FEMA Region IV is pleased to announce our annual Training and Exercise Planning Workshop to be held 10/1-2 in Thomasville, GA at our Federal Regional Center.  We will start Tuesday morning at 0830 (registration starts at 0800) and run until about 4:30.  On day 2 (Wednesday) we will finish about noon.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone and collaborating together.  Safe travels to Thomasville!
