Exhibit: "Family Roots"

Visit Pennypacker Mills for a fascinating look at Pennsylvania Governor Samuel Pennypacker’s family history focusing the arrival of the first paternal ancestor in America in 1698 through to Samuel’s generation. Pennypacker’s passion for family history included artifacts that related to his family as well as silhouettes of his grandparents, signatures of all of the men in his direct line, pieces of furniture, personal items and of course the genealogy and family Bibles. His research took him to Holland and Germany and correspondence with as many relatives as he could find. This exhibit is included on all tours of the mansion. All ages; free; suggested donation $2 per person. Pennypacker Mills is the home of Pennsylvania Governor Samuel W. Pennypacker (1903-1907) and his family. Set on 170-acres of bucolic farmland, the mansion is completely furnished and houses an extensive collection of official and personal artifacts of the Pennypacker family. Operated by the County of Montgomery, the site is open year-round for guided tours, seasonal events, educational programs, changing exhibits, and special programs. Closed Mondays, County Holidays, Independence Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day & Eve and New Year’s Eve & Day. Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm; & Sunday, 1 to 4 pm.

The Tempest

In our inaugural production, The Phoenix Theatre presents William Shakespeare's, The Tempest. Shakespeare's final play begins as Prospero and his daughter Miranda, who have been banished from their home by Prospero's own brother, are marooned on an island filled with magic and mythological creatures. Revenge becomes the theme as Prospero causes his brother and compatriot's ship to be brought to shore by a treacherous storm. Love, wonder, humor, and villainy fill this wild journey through the island culminating in the confrontation of two brothers after many years of separation. You will be astounded by this contemporary re-imagining of one of the key works of William Shakespeare. ALL SEATING IS GENERAL ADMISSION Adult - $25.00 Senior/Student - $17.00 Under 18 - $0.00
