You're very welcome to join us at our breakfast meeting of the One Step Beyond group of Business Network International, at 9.45am - 11.30am in the Alona Hotel, Strathclyde Country Park, Bellshill. BNI is a business and professional networking organisation whose primary purpose is to exchange qualified business referrals. There is plenty of time for open networking from as early as 9.45am along with tea/coffee. After that there is a structured meeting where you will have an opportunity to tell the group about your business and what referrals you are looking for, in 60 seconds (as long as your profession doesn't clash with one of our members). There will be also be a 10 minute presentation from one of our regular members. The professions already represened in the group include; Accountancy  IFA Commercial Insurance Hair/Make Up Design Joinery Plumbing and Heating Services Carpets & Flooring  HR Services  Mortgages Web Design  Architecture Virtual Personal Assistant IT Support Commercial Furniture Sales Merchant Services. Summer Programme May - June 2019


THESE WORKSHOPS CAN ONLY BE BOOKED FOR SCHOOL PUPILS.  At Dumfries House Estate, we offer programmes in science, engineering, healthy eating, growing and harvesting vegetables, horticulture, sewing and textiles, hospitality and traditional building crafts, all of which are linked  either to the Curriculum for Excellence or to industry training needs. The education programmes cater for a wide range of ages and outcomes. The Harmony approach to learning from nature is at the heart of all our programmes and threads through every activity offered. We have day workshops in a single centre for an in-depth learning day, dual centre options to cover a wider variety of topics and residential packages focusing on outdoor and resilience building or themed stays to link with the secondary curriculum. All day visit programmes are booked as per the ticket system. For a more detailed explanation of topics, please refer to the Winter Curriculum sent with your booking link. All workshops have a material cost of £3 per pupil which will be invoiced to the school on receipt of a booking. HOW TO BOOK Choose an event date and then hit register to pick a workshop combination. Please check that the date selected corresponds with the day of the week stated on the ticket. You must complete a seperate registration form for each day/date you wish to book. Please note we have limited access to our minibuses which are chargeable based on distance from the Estate. Booking tickets are available for the minibuses. Mindfulness Mini Retreat


Embrace a mix of mindfulness meditations, movements and stillness in this afternoon mini-retreat practice session!   This mini retreat is designed to open up our awareness of our body, mind and selves, and immerse into our present moment experience. Sessions are suitable for anyone who is looking to engage in meditation and mindfulness, and who wishes to spend a little time out their busy weeks opening up their awareness to the here and now.   Practicing mindfulness meditations can be extremely beneficial in reducing stress, building resilience, and gaining a sense of balance.   --- What to expect? The venue is Young Enterprise Scotland and directions to the venue will be given by email prior to the retreat. The retreat will take place indoors and outdoors – all depending on the weather and what best suits the practices. The lovely venue has central heating and is nice and cosy if it’s cold or wet out. They also have a fantastic area outside which is covered if warm but raining. We’ll certainly try to do the mindful movements outdoors at least …weather permitting! (other than booking free) This workshop is part of the Knows No Bounds social enterprise initiative and runs on a Pay It Forward System.   That means: Your place has been paid for by someone who’s taking part in a previous session To book your place, all you need to pay is a small booking fee There’s an opportunity for you to donate money on the day in cash into a donation box This is to ‘pay it forward’ to someone else - give them the opportunity to take part in future This will allow the event to go to other areas and spread this further and wider The amount is up to you – please pay what you can, and what you are able to. Makaton Book Bug Session


Come along to our monthly Makaton Book Bug Sessions open to everyone! Makaton is a great language tool using signs and symbols to help people to communicate and a great way to assist in children’s language development. So come along to our unique book bug session, where we will spend the morning in K-Woodlands immersing ourselves into enchanting much loved stories such as the Gruffalo and Stick man!
