IWA Peterborough Canal Cleanup


IWA Peterborough Branch – Work parties clearing vegetation on Horseways Channel and carrying out maintenance of Horseways Lock. 10am to 3pm - twice a month. Personal Protective clothing and tools are provided but it is advisable to wear sturdy footwear and warm clothing. Hot drinks are provided in the branch gazebo. As there are no facilities nearby you are advised to bring a packed lunch. Access is via, and by permission of, Allpress Farms, Byall Fen Drove (B1093), PE16 6XQ. "Post Horns and Pockets - a walk around Lord Sandwich's Borough" 18th Century Guided Walk


Eighteenth-century Huntingdon rose from the ruins under John Montagu's guidance. A guide through the clatter of mail coaches, discovering new building work, aldermanic Houses, riotous schoolboys, inns and slums; recalling the  elegance, music and riot of his Lordship's Borough, led by Richard Meredith of the Civic Society, who has long studied the town at this important period.Please note the walk will last around an hour and there is no wet weather alternative location.

Buckden Ghost Talk and Walk


Join Mark Egerton, local historian and ghost expert, on a ghostly tour of Buckden.Starting at Buckden towers, former Palace of the Bishop of Lincoln, with a short talk, followed by a guided tour of the Palace Knot Garden and Gatehouse, before moving on to Buckden village, ending at the Red Lion. Parts of this event are out of doors and no wet weather venue is available.Parking will be available at Buckden Towers, and the Talk/Walk will start at the Great Tower.Ticket prices include a drink (alcholic, soft or hot) at the Red Lion at the end when Mark will be able to answer any questions and will have copies of his book "Haunted Huntingdonshire" for sale.

Cromwell Museum Summer Drinks Party


Join us for an evening at Huntingdon Town Hall to get a sneak preview of upcoming changes to the Cromwell Museum, as it gears up for a major refurbishment this winter, the first in over 30 years.
