Tartan Touch Single Pass - Carnoustie High School


Tartan Touch is Scottish Rugby’s Fun, Simple and Social version of non-contact rugby! Join in the fun and get fit at a hub near you this summer for just £3 a session. Tartan Touch Sessions will run at Carnoustie High School over 10 consecutive weeks from Wednesday 15 May to Wednesday 17 July (6.30pm-8.30pm). Set myself a goal last year lose 10 stone in a year eating real food. People said your mad including to be honest my inner self. 9 months in 9 stone lost 3 months to go. Got to keep focused but enjoying the changes. It is proving to me when you decide and commit things start to happen. I will be sharing the story so far and sharing how I changed my mindset and lifestyle which has had a huge impact on both my business and personal life.  I will be joined by my good friend Steven J inness who will be sharing his story. A branch of the international Toastmasters Public Speaking and Leadership organisation meets twice a month in Dundee city centre - and we'd love you to join us!We meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month in the Argyll Room at the Hampton by Hilton hotel 1 Argyllgait (opposite the Grosvenor Casino and PureGym) from 6.45 - 9.00pm. Whatever your goals in life may be, your success depends on your ability to communicate effectively. Individuals who can express their ideas so that they are heard, understood and acted upon, possess one of the primary qualities of leadership.You are welcome to come along to any meeting as a guest so you can find out whether Toastmasters is right for you. There's no charge for attending as a guest, so you can find out what Toastmasters is all about for yourself before deciding whether to join Dundee Toastmasters and embark on a programme that will multiply your communication and leadership skills.Becoming a memberThe Toastmasters programme is suitable for everyone (though the minimum age for membership is 18yrs). The atmosphere at meetings is friendly, informal, and supportive.Members come from a variety of occupations: education, PR, journalism, sales, hotel administration, design, museums and many other categories from computer technology to homeopathy. Many of them have to talk to groups regularly in the course of their work, and feel there is room for improvement. Everyone believes that developing the ability to speak in public is character-forming and beneficial to their careers. Becoming a member of Dundee Toastmasters provides access to the Toastmasters International communication and leadership programs. You also become a part of the world-wide Toastmasters' community.You are welcome to come to any of our meetings as a guest for free and there is no need to arrange this in advance - just turn up!What does membership cost?Dundee Toastmasters membership costs about the same as attending an average evening class. It is a non-profit making, educational organisation aimed at making communication and leadership training available to the whole community for as little cost as possible. All our funds go towards the hiring of a venue to hold our meetings, the creation and updating of educational materials for the benefit of members, and promoting the club to those who might benefit from what it has to offer.To join the club you have to pay a one-off registration fee to Toastmasters International at a cost of £20. This includes registration onto the Toastmasters cutting-edge 'Pathways' educational system and a subscription to the Toastmasters monthly magazine with lots of hints and tips on public speaking.The Dundee Toastmasters membership subscriptions are currently £157 for 12 months (a saving of £41 annually) or £99 for six months. In addition, whenever you join for 12 months there is the option to pay by monthly standing order at just £13 a month. In any case, guests are always encouraged to come along to a few meetings to find out if Toastmasters is the right option for their needs before joining. Upon arrival you will recieve a pint or schooner of beer, depending upon choice, you will then be taken on a walk through the history of the building and the process of brewing, from raw ingredients to packaging the final product.
