Carleton Place Infant Feeding Clinic


If you have questions about feeding your baby you can visit our Infant Feeding clinics. It is a good idea to get support early on, even if your baby is feeding well. Getting support early on can help you gain the confidence to know that baby is healthy and growing. During your visit to the clinic, a Registered Nurse will: Provide one-on-one support to help you feed your baby Assess your baby to make sure they are growing well and meeting their growth milestones Guide you to learn your baby’s feeding cues so that you know when your baby is hungry or full Teach you the signs to know that your baby is feeding well Give you tips to help you with common breastfeeding challenges Give you the chance to ask questions you may have about feeding your baby You may drop-in or make an appointment by calling the Health ACTION Line 1-800-660-5853 and asking to speak with a Public Health Nurse.

Baby Talk is a weekly drop-in group for parents and their babies ages birth to one year. The group is run by the Ontario Early Years Centre. A Public Health Nurse from the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit attends once or twice a month depending on the location. The Health Unit’s Immunization Clinic provides publicly funded immunizations at no charge to residents of a certain age and for those who do not have a health care provider (HCP). To receive your immunizations at the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit (LGLDHU), please call to book an appointment - 613-283-2740. Smiths Falls Food Handler Certification Exam


If you have completed a home study version of the food handler certification course, or In Good Hands and are ready to book your exam please register for your preferred date. Once you start the exam you will have one hour to complete it and will require 70% to achieve your certificate. Your certificate will be mailed to you within 15 days. In order to register for the exam ensure that you have: Completed the home study review guide and then submit it to the health unit via email or if you have a printed copy please bring it on exam day. If you have shared your home study manual a separate study review guide is required for each person taking the exam. If you have taken In Good Hands print off your student ID sheet and bring it with you as proof of completion. Photo identification is required. Payment of a fee of $25.00 dollars is required prior to taking the exam. If you are unable to attend your scheduled exam you have 7 days prior to the exam date to request a refund. Seating is limited to 15 people for each session.
