Our popular summer day camps introduce your children to the birds and animals of the estuary. We’ll explore the beach, clam beds, eelgrass mudflats, and Hecate Park. Campers will use scopes on the observation tower, beach seines, plankton tows, shovels and buckets to find out who lives here. The region’s only sea creature touch tank and a salmon aquarium share our facility with microscope stations, multimedia presentations, giant maps and an ecology library. All Camps run from 9 am to 3:00 pm. You may drop off your child between 8:45 am and 9 am. All camp participants must to be able to eat, dress and toilet independently. Cowichan Valley Shakespeare Festival 2019

The Shawnigan Players Present: The Cowichan Valley Shakespeare Festival 2019 Get ready for the highlight of your summer: TWO Shakespeare comedies MEASURE FOR MEASURE, directed by Alex Gallacher AND MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, directed by Kimberley Phillips. Starting August 6, the Gem O' the Isle in Cowichan Station (Koksilah Road) will become the hub of all things theatrical in the valley. This is the eighth year in a row The Shawnigan Players are presenting a full live theatre show with a large cast in colourful costumes in the fairy-tale-like surrounding of a small orchard and under the starry sky. Whether you have seen a show here before or not, prepare to be wowed by the remarkably topical and smart Measure for Measure or be entertained one of Shakespeare's favourite comedies, Much Ado About Nothing, all in the best possible surroundings for live plays of this 'nature' (pardon the pun). DATES for Measure for Measure: August 6, 8, 10, 14, 16  at 7:30 pm & August 18 at 2 pm AND DATES for Much Ado About Nothing: August 7, 9, 13, 15, 17 at 7:30 pm & August 11 at 2 pm Select the date for the play of your choice on the right (The Button says either "Tickets" or "Select Another Date") Please pay attention when buying your ticket, because the name of the play is NOT mentioned on it! The date you choose determines what show your ticket is for. SPECIAL FESTIVAL PASS OFFER - HALF PRICE FOR THE OTHER SHOW: Buying one ticket at regular or family price entitles you to the other show at half price! After you have bought either a regular or family ticket to either show, you will receive a confirmation e-mail that contains the coupon code for a 50% discount on the price of the other show. These two tickets together will be your Festival Pass. Advance Pricing: Regular ticket for ONE show 20.00 dollars. Family Pass (up to 5 people: 1-2 adults + children) for ONE show 40.00. Festival pass for BOTH shows for one person: 30.00 dollars. Family Festival Pass (up to 5 people: 1-2 adults + children) for BOTH shows: 60.00. Tickets available from Ten Old Books in the Duncan Garage, Mason's in Shawnigan Lake and via this site (Credit or Debit). If all else fails, contact [email protected] (Prices for tickets at the gate approx. 25% higher) Tickets button on the right: Please, do us a favour and share this event with your friends, by e-mail and/or on Facebook. Thank you! Benedick (played by Matt Williams) and Beatrice (by Breann Gallacher) in Much Ado about Nothing. FAQs Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? No, this is an event for all ages. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Parking is provided. What can I bring into the event? A blanket to sit on, if you prefer. There is limited regular seating on chairs as well. There is food and drink available from the concession stand, which we encourage you to make use of. What's the refund policy? Full refund up to 7 days before show date. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, you can show us your ticket on your smartphone. The volunteers have a list with names as well, in case you forgot your ticket. Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? Yes. Is it ok if the name on my half-price ticket (Festival Pass) doesn't match the person who attends? No, because half-price-tickets are only for the original ticket holder(s). You cannot buy a half-price ticket on behalf of someone else. Their name would not appear on the list of full-price-ticket holders, therefore they would not be entitled to a ticket at half price and would either have to pay the difference or be refused entry. If you bought a ticket at regular price, but cannot attend, someone else may use your ticket as if it was theirs.
